I personally enjoy the leveling itself.
Are you serious....

If you think every MMO requires "raids" for endgame, that is sad. You've been tortured.

I never said I personally think raiding is a requirement for end game content. This is just what most of your average MMO players will expect.

Personally, I'm going to WvW nonstop once I max out.

I feel like the game did a complete 180 from GW1. Took a game where you had to have a party and couldn't solo effectively, and made it so everyone can/has to solo and even when you're with a party, it feels like soloing. Instead of requiring organization and a decent party composition to complete difficult tasks, there's no way to organize effectively and party members are all interchangeable, with nobody really standing out.

It feels like a single player RPG that happens to have other players in it (that seem more like dispensable NPCs than players), and even if you want to sit down and play seriously, the entire game fights against it.

It's a bit of short-term entertainment if you can get by the bugs and enjoy buttonmashing action RPGs, but I can't see myself even being able to stomach it long enough to hit max level, let alone participate in whatever "end game" you can have with such limited party/organization abilities.

Rift is similar to WoW, but it has a lot of unique aspects that doesn't exist in WoW. It also has far better graphics (it does matter) and frequent content updates.

How is GW2 buttonsmashing? When I did a story quest on my mesmer, I had to constantly be on the move to avoid getting hit and use my abilities correctly. Definitely not button smashing. And there's plenty of group events and such. However, from what I've read and heard, this is mostly a PvP game. If you're not into that I can see why you wouldn't like it.

Because few abilities have big effects, it's mostly little effect, low cooldown abilities, mashing dodge/defensive abilities when you're being attacked. Sort of like comparing League of Legends to DotA, for example. Edit: Also, there's little to no punishment for dying. Instances don't reset, you just restart at the checkpoint with no progress lost and go again and again until you finish it.

There's tons of group events, but it feels (to me) like you're playing with generic NPCs as opposed to actual players.

I am entirely a PvP player, and don't really enjoy PvE at all. I dumped over 1,600 hours into GW1s PvP and was core ranger for a top 50 guild, yet only ever completed one campaign and never entered hard mode. There isn't any serious end-game PvP as far as I can tell, and even if they were to implement a GvG mode, the core skill and class system of the game prevents the kind of organization and serious play that I enjoy. It's all about your personal character rather than the team, and you can't even take on a pure support/DPS/whatever role if you wanted to because 5 of your skill slots are locked into presets, and 1 is locked as a self heal, leaving you with 3 skill slots and 1 elite to customize.

Well, I'm only level 14 so I don't really know. I don't think I'll be playing competitively in GW2 anyway. I'm more into WoW arena atm.

You seem to make some good points though, but punishment for death is imo an old outdated mechanic. It just makes the game more frustrating and de-motivating.
