New Build, Windows taking too long to install on Samsung 830

Thread Starter
Everything seems to be working great. After a long hiatus from building I finally have the new rig together and Win7 Install just hangs on 1% for over thirty minutes.
I have deleted and formatted the drive during install setup to make sure the allocation is correct and then selecting it to install on. I made sure I have it plugged into the top grey port on the SATA 6GB/s slot(read a review on newegg saying another port could cause issues. I made sure the BIOS is in AHCI. I tried installing with the HDD unplugged, so the SDD was the only drive it could see. THE BIOS is reading all the Memory. IT's all fully seated.

EDITS: Installing from an ISO off of a DVD that has been successfully used before.

If you have more than one DVD drive, use the slowest one you got.
I had an issue where it would hang at a point and tell me it needed a DVD driver. I finally solved it by plugging in my oldest and slowest CD r/w drive.
Now every time I build a system I drag this relic out. Works great for HDD's as well as SSD's.

Good luck thumb.gif

yikes, might take longer than 10 minutes, Only had a 8GB USB drive to use, format is taking its sweet time.

EDIT: Didn't realize there was a new quick program for making a USB key, I was using the old command prompt method...Been out of the game for too long:D
