Mice setting remain whitout drivers ?

Speaking about a mouse whit onboard memory ; When you install a new mouse whit its driver in your PC and config it the first time................after if you unistall the drivers or change PC, the all settings rimain into the mouse memory forever or only specific values ?

DPI, LO, accelleration, polling rate

I'm interested especially to the polling rate setting for example remain into the mouse or it is tied to the driver ? if u set 500Hz using mouse driver, when u change the PC, the polling rate of that mouse remain 500hz or return to classic 125Hz ?


In practise i Know that Razer whit Synapse 2.0 is a total failure, i want to know if i can buy older model whit onboard memory, configure it the first time whit the driver and after unistal the driver and keep this setting in all PCs whitout install any software.
is possible or not ?

Mice with onboard memory are supposed to save the settings so that they apply to another computer without the driver as well. However, the exact information that is stored depends on the model of the mouse...

It will be hard for people to answer your question if you don't say which model you have in mind rolleyes.gif

Polling Rate and DPI are in general on the mouse (only very lousy mice would not save that).

LO is probably lift-off distance and this should be also on the mouse.

The acceleration could be driver/OS or firmware - so this really depends on the specific model.

For some Roccat mice it would work as you suggest (install driver, change everything like you want it, save, uninstall driver).

If you keep your mice plugged in it should remeber the polling rate and DPI setting, no matter if it has onboard memory or not, even when you uninstall your drivers.

Steelseries Sensei has on board memory and a display under neath the mouse to configure.
What i did in stall driver configure everything ,store it on the memory remove driver.
If you later want to tweak it a bit go to the display underneath and change ,easy.

I haven't installed my g700 drivers in probably 3-4 reformats. Still remembers every setting, including key bindings, it has been close to year since i've tried to configure the mouse differently.

If I go to run the setpoint software for my G9x with my saved profile it makes me delete the profile and start fresh.
