Probably have them in the wrong slots.

edit: looking at the manual real quick online shows they should be in the same color.

Oke i think u where right!

I was wrong about the slots, i thought u always had to but 2 stick in slot 1 and 3
But i looking in my case and Slot 1 and 2 are Blue and 3 and 4 are White rolleyes.gif They are in Slot 1 & 2 now who are blue

Now CPU-z says i run Dual channel thumb.gif
It also says in DC Mode : Unganged

I dont remember that slot saying anything before, dont know what i means??

Why did it show 4Gb in total when the Ram was in the wrong slot?
And what is the difference now its running Dual channel?

Ps. i have put my CPU back to Stock tongue.gif
I want to start all over again because so far i wasnt happy with.
And i want to know a couple of things before i go overclocking again.

Like: When does windows get corrupt? i heard somebody says this, i dont know what to do if this happens.

And the difference between overclocking on FSB or Multiplier? Some people recommend the other over the first and visa versa.

This time i dont care about the numbers i just want the biggerst performance boost on a not too high voltage lvl sinds i want to use it for every day biggrin.gif

Not sure about the RAM.
Windows can be corrupt when it crashes too many times. How do you tell if it's corrupt? Can't say exactly. Loss of stability. Programs crashing. Startup errors. You can just repair windows or do a fresh install with the DVD. It should not effect your overclock, as that is all stored in the BIOS.

The difference between FSB overclocking and straight multiplier overclocking is that the multiplier only effects the CPU clock speed. The FSB effects the CPU clock speed, the memory speed, the HT Link, the CPU/NB and, I think, the PCI Express, but that gets it's own clock speed, so you only have to worry about the CPU clock and the memory clock, HT Link, and CPU/NB. I recommend overclocking both. The way it is outlined in the guide. First find the FSB limit, then up the multiplier till you reach that limit. BUT, it seems like you are still having some trouble grasping overclocking. It is simpler just to raise the multiplier and vcore.

For the best performance, I recommend keeping the RAM at stock. Go for the highest FSB overclock you can, hopefully 4Ghz. Then overclock the CPU/NB as high as you can. Then see if you can get the ram close to 1600Mhz.

Sweet thanks for the reply !

I am currently finding the easy path first, sinds im stil new to overclocking i am now only using the multiplier only.
If i find a nice limit with suitable Voltages i wil stick with that first.

After i can find a new clock using FSB overclocking. So i can look at other things like memory and North bus speeds.

I feel al this information something be a bit overwhelming , with starting to work on the FSB, i know where the settings are now in my Bios that took sometime now im learning more when i read other topics aswel!

I need to know more about CPU/NB increasing before i contiu with FSB OCing thumb.gif Thanks for the info i wil keep using This topic to ask questions while i go.

Currently i am going to contiu my multiplier OC from 3.5Ghz without Vcore increasing so far.

Hey all this TOpic might be bit dated but i am stil using most of the information u guys posted thumb.gif

Sinds it is getting summertime again soon and today is a realy nice Sunny day i tought i go start with a new OC in the warmest season of the year(ish)
And i would like a better OC then that 3.7 multiplier.

I want a modest OC without raising any or very little Vcore wink.gif

Here i got some screenies when running prime95 for 10 mins each Bump

what i got so far:

Let me know if its readable

Way too much on that picture for that res, can't see much. Start with CpuZ shots first, separate HWInfo under load will tell more about temps and volts.

That's way too much vcore for such a tiny overclock, you should be able to achieve 3.3ghz on stock volts(1.2v). 1.44v should get you into 4+ghz territory, my 960T is currently unlocked to an X6 @ 3.8ghz 1.31v
