Hey guys biggrin.gif

Thanks for al the help!
I havent been active on overclocking recently but its weekend now and i want to take the next step.

Currently i have my 960T as Quad clocked 3,4ghz
I remember when i turn on the 2 extra Core the TDP says 161.

I remember my Motherboard only handles 140Watt? tongue.gif

I just wanna wake up this topic for the weekend and say hi for now biggrin.gif
When i get home i am going overclocking!

i beat you. mine says 171W. srly, that is not accurate. if you notice, you'll never see 95W even at stock unlocked. it would show 117W or something. What mobo do you have?

provided your mobo, cpu cooler, and psu will allow oc'ing, try these steps for a quick 4GHz . . .

1. Set default in BIOS
2. Disable Turbo, C1E, and Cool &Quiet
3. Raise Multiplier to 20
4. Raise CPU Vcore to about 1.38v (lower to see if it boots at lower setting/ raise 0.01v at a time if it does not boot - till it boots)

Again, depending on your mobo

5. Raise your CPU Vcore 0.02v from last setting in Step. 4.
6. Unlock

Fine tune your oc using this guide . . .

I have a ASRock 880G/1605T combo. With good cooling, you can run 4.1 safely as an X6 .Your board will shut-off before it burns up (like Asus boards).Pretty durable. And the auxtin is the NB I believe. Like rdr09 mentioned- around 1.4v should be good for 4.0GHz.

And fill out your system specs already! biggrin.gif

Thanks i wil try, i have to say i am stil using your previous tips on page 9 tongue.gif

Oh and so CPu-z is not accurate? Great id rather use tools that are accurate mad.gif Any alternatives on that?

Its the same with Hardware monitor showing my auxtin going nuts, false readings.....

I need tools that work wink.gif

Oke so the overclocking is in progress now.

So far i reached 3,7ghz stable with these settings:

3,7Ghz
Multiplier 17,5
Bus speed 215
Ht link 2150
Cpu Vcore 1,400v

(other settings at default)
Ofc Turbo core disabled,
Running this as x4 Quad

Now i increased Multiplier to 18,0
And it crasht, i bumped up Vcore to 1,410V
1 worked gave an error (core 4)
So i Bumped up Vcore again to 1,420V

Cpu-z says Cpu voltage is touching 1,5V slightly

Highest temp is CPUTIN reaching 47C
Cpu core are at 28C

Even Auxtin is at 40C and not going nuts, like i experianced before going from 30C to 127C and number in between going back and forth.

If my Auxtin is giving wierd readings i wil stop.
I am not sure at what CPU VCore i should stop increasing ???

Stressing in progress so far so good.
I wil post again when this test reaches and hour or 30 min stable untill i reach and unstable Bump again.

(EDIT)

Worker 4 gives an error again but much later as before.
Wil try increasing Vcore until that doesnt happen again.....rolleyes.gif

Don't worry about Auxtin. For whatever reason this is inaccurate. I never got a good reading on my unlocked 1600T(960T). You're already getting some good info from 2 members that know what there talking about ( rdr09 & redwoodz) but I'll chime in with-

Raise your cpu/nb volts to 1.2 and cpu/nb multi to 2800mhz or so for best performance.
Your ram may be a limiting factor when raising your fsb. If its 1600 you may not get more than 212 without crashing.
1.4 volt on the cpu should get you 3.8-4.0 ghz. If your ram is limiting, try a multi o.c., just raise multi.
* Don't go beyond 1.45 volt on cpu, you're asking for trouble on air. You shouldn't need that for 4.2ghz!

If someone hasn't already told you the "Goat " is a member who knows a lot about mobo's and power phases-XD

Thanks for your reply thumb.gif

Im currently trying to get 3,9Ghz stable but without succes so far .

I got my CPU Vcore on 1,46V

I stopped increasing Multiplier sinds i have no succes in getting it stable past the 18.0x mad.gif

So i am currently increasing the Busspeed from 215 to 220
But no succes either in terms of staying stable.

I set everything back to the last stable clock i got so that is:
Ps. i run stress tests for min 1 hour/30mins Depending on previous settings

(Last post) (1hour stress test past)
3,7Ghz
Multiplier 17,5
Bus speed 215
Ht link 2150
Cpu Vcore 1,400v

(At this moment last known Stable test) (1hour stress test past)
3,8Ghz
Multiplier 18,0
Bus speed 215
Ht link 2150
Cpu Vcore 1,450v

So you say i should increase:
CPU NB Voltage i understand, its at 1,750V now Build up towards 1,200V ?? Correct?
CPU NB frequency Multiplier i think u say, is at x10.0 2150Mhz Cpu-z shows this as HT-link correct? I should build this up slowly towards 2700Mhz (this is a multiplier increase like the CPU MP correct?)

Await reply before i contiu in my bios wink.gif
Ps; 3,9ghz at CPu Vcore 1,460V failed , so i dont want to keep increasing anymore voltage in that. tongue.gif

is it just me or IE has been acting strange lately on all 4 of my desktops?

anyway, try this combo 16/250. CPU/NB will get 2500mhZ OC where you may have to up its vcore to 1.375. Reset HT Link to 2000MHz.

CPU vcore to 1.40v (this my setting for HEX, btw). set your dram to default speed and volts.

16/250

So CPu Multiplier at 16.0x a decrease
Bus speed increase from 215 to 250

Cpu Northbridge... Multiplier i think u say correct? Its at 10.0x showing 2150Mhz u want me to increase that to 2500Mhz whatever multiplier that is.
And increase the CPu Nb Voltage from 1.1750 V increasing to 1,375V?

And then u say reset HT link to 2000Mhz, This i dont understand

HT link and CPU NB Frequency Multiplier are the same thing , so u tell me it wil get 2500Mhz but then decrease it to 2000Mhz?

Only thing i can figure is that when i increase my Bus speed i think the CPU NB MP wil increase automatically correct?

I wil try this and see what happens tongue.gif
