Help chosing a gaming monitor

Thread Starter
I'm looking for gaming monitor for 150-240 euro. It needs to have good image quality (of course), 1920x1080, 22-24 inch resolution, 1-4 ms response time, preferably a wall mount and 120hz if that's possible for my budget.

I've been looking at Asus monitors like the VE248H( but i've heard it has ghosting problems), VS248H and VS248-P.
Samsung monitors have glossy finishes (i prefer mat) and mostly no wall mount support.
Dell Ultrasharps have 8 ms response times which is too much.

I recommend the VS248H, I have one, and have had no problems what so ever with it wink.gif

I see you have both the VS248H and the VE248H, how do they differ from each other?

I was told that the VE248H has built-in speakers? But other than that the only thing I notice is the buttons on the monitor being layed out differently lol biggrin.gif

Well, no one uses built-in speakers.

Haven't you noticed any ghosting on the VE248H?

Why recommend the VS248H over VE248H?

These are great monitors and I have seen them discounted several times. Wait for another sale. Check slickdeals (dot) net every day til you see one.

My friend just bought the 2412 for $270 and the 2312 for $200

Wait for what sale? A sale on Newegg? You know that Newegg doesn't ship to Europe, right? I mentioned my budget in euro. HURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Isn't 8ms a bit too much for gaming? I play Quake Live a lot.

No, the sales go from DELL online. I just linked newegg for you to see the specs. I think dell online ships to Europe right?

For FPS shooters 8ms response time is fine as it will be more likely that input lag is your true enemy. As you appear to be happy with a Matt or Anti Glare coating then the model being suggested by the members here (U2312HM) has the lowest input lag of any (e) IPS monitor at 0.6ms (see http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u2312hm.htm). If you do not want an IPS monitor then perhaps a Benq 2410T or 2420T (which are TN panels and were produced as gaming monitors) might suit you.

The U2312HM has been on Amazon for about £180.thumb.gif
