First gaming mouse

I'm looking for a new mouse for gaming. I will mostly be playing fps with an occasional action-adventure, and some skyrim type games. I currently have a wireless Logitech mouse I used with my laptop and for the past 2 weeks with my pc, and as you can probably guess its not really good for gaming. I will mostly use a fingertip grip, and I'd like to spend less than $60 for the mouse (I would be able to wait a bit and save up more, if you think it is worth it). Neweeg.com will have the Logitech G9X as a shell shocker today at 1pm PDT, so if I can't find anything else, and it's less than $50, I'll just go with that. I'd appreciate some advice. Thanks.

I have had a few mice. Just switched from the Sensei to the G9X a few weeks ago as I have small hands and the Sensei started to cramp up my hand like nobodies business. I like the G9X. If you have small hands or claw grip style id say go for that one

That is one of the better threads to read when picking a mouse.

I have the Deathadder and it's a great piece of hardware. It tracks well and I haven't had any problems in the 1 year+ that I have owned it. I have also tried the mx518 and the g500. They're all great mice. It comes down to preference if you're not looking for too many additional features.

Don't get RAZR they are overpriced and they break easily. I suggest one of the ROCCAT or the one I went for which always is in the top 3 for gaming mice: Logitech G9x

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm 90% sure I'll go with the G9X, from what I read it seems like one of the best mice for a fingertip/claw grip and I'm pretty sure it will be less than $50, which leaves me around $15 for a mouse pad. Can you suggest a good medium size mouse pad for that price? Thanks.

If you can muster up 7 more dollars you can get the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826991001&Tpk=ripper%20xxl which is all the mouse pad you will ever need.

Wow, I don't think I even have enough space on my table for that, but thanks anyway.

The laser sensor in the G9x has a reported 5% positive acceleration, so, I.M.O., the 3090 sensor would be better, and you like a claw grip.

There are more 3090 sensor mice . . .

I can also vouch for the G9X. I have two of them and they've managed to hold their own when put up against me and my 7, 5, and 2-year old. Paired with a good mousepad, they're baby-butt-smooth and responsive as hell.

/edit/ I should probably throw in there that my only complaint is that the middle mouse button (scrollwheel) is hard to click. It seems like they've at least attempted to fix it in the newer ones (the second one I bought was noticeably better), but it's still a bit of a pain.

I bought mine as an upgrade to my 6 year old MX1000.

Its been great, I like pretty much everything about it. I would say the middle mouse butten is almost non existent anymore.

There is only 1 real con I can think of, and that is the scroll mode switch. Its located in a really bad spot on the bottom of the mouse. It makes it an annoying feat to click.

Keep in mind that this is a really small con though. Every thing else is nearly perfect, from ergonomics to response time to dpi. It also feels really will built and durable, which is something I've come to notice about all logitech products. Its safe to say I'm really happy I bought this over a razer deathadder or a naga, or any other of those mice.
