There are numerious under the hood changes that make it a far better OS than W7, Metro is really the only negative.
I know, it's just my opinion that it's more of a downgrade. If it has better gaming performance I'll probably end up using it anyway. Really dislike Metro though.

It is faster than W7, but in terms of pure FPS...It's unnoticeable. You'd probably get a similar FPS gain by getting some faster RAM.
