mouse overclock on windows 8

Has anyone been able to successfully overclock a mouse in Windows 8? I'm trying to overclock a wmo to 500 hz in Windows 8 rtm and can't seem to do it. Basically using these instructions http://www.ngohq.com/news/15043-how-to-increase-usb-sample-rate-in-windows-vista-7-a.html Test mode seems to enable fine (at least, the watermark activates) but when I run mouserate.exe the hz stays at 125. Never really had any problem doing this in XP, Vista, or Windows 7.

I can't help you with that but I need to ask, does windows 8 have any problems with accel? Like 7 where I need to use raw input in my games.
