Best online third person shooter?

I bought a ps3 the other week while i wait for The Last of Us. But i want a nive active online third person military shooter. Metal gear online looked very promising until i just read that they stopped the online service, which sucks. I have uncharted 3, but the way the health works is very unrealistic. Headshots dont even matter.

Are there any good militar TPS on ps3 ( exclusive ) that are fun online? Does anyone play socom 4 online? How are the hitboxes? Every time i google good military ps3 game it always just gives me call of duty, but i have a pc and an xbox for those. I want something only on PS3, what do you guys suggest?

SOCOM Confrontation. The SOCOM series is one of a kind and, IMO, above every other shooter ever because you actually have to think. Unfortunately, in the next gen era, the series has slowly declined and is on life support. SOCOM Confrontation is easily the best in my eyes.

As for SOCOM 4... It sucks. Headshots everywhere. Spray and pray with a SMG across the map and you'll get a headshot. It's a disgrace to the franchise and to gaming in general.

Here's a video of a community night on SOCOM Confrontation. I filmed it and put it on YouTube. It should give you a a taste of the game play itself. And sorry for not having a thumbnail. YouTube didn't load the 3 preset thumbnails soooo this video has none lmao fail. Enjoy!

Oh wow sweet, now i can buy that on PSN correct? I went out and bought socom 4 anyways, i like it, its lots of fun, but like you said i find myself either getting spawn killed by a nade launcher, or headshot from across the map with smgs lol, another thing about socom 4, all the guns sound the same lol

Confrontation is available on PSN. However, it hasn't seen a decrease in price. I think it's still like $30 or something ridiculous like that. Go to GameStop and just grab a used copy on the disc for like $3 lol the Cold Front map pack hasn't seen a decrease either. Still $15. Worth it in my opinion but it's still a little pricey if you don't play it a lot.

And told ya! Haha. SOCOM 4 is just garbage. And yes, Zipper/SONY spent absolutely BARE MINIMUM on sound affects and the like. A true slap in the face from SONY and the main reason I won't be supporting their products any further.

Confrontation can be lots of fun. I spent a bunch of hours on the game with my brother and clan mates and it can be a blast. I kind of got tired of how serious people take the game though. Make sure you are talking to your team mates as these maps are pretty big and communication really can determine how successful you are. There are still plenty of active servers too.

Does it have to be military? Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne both have multiplayers and pretty sure headshots count... although I'm so terrible at both I wouldn't really know wink.gif
