What kind of read and write speeds do you experience with this card?

from what i remember i was getting 400 ish on my raid 0 ssd's and around 300 with my raptors raid 0. but that was on vista i never tested on win 7, i assume it will be the same. i didn't really mess around with it to much. i'm sure it could have done better.

I need something that can handle moving around folders in excess of 50+GB at a decent rate. Moving them on my RIIIE is pain stakingly slow lol, think this would be able to handle my needs until I eventually use it for an actual raid array?

tell you what ill hook these back up to my raptors tomorrow and we can do a team viewer session so you can see how it performs thumb.gif

Sure no problem there!

If you can, a transfer of a large folder multiple file from your 3TB to your raptor would give me a good ball park figure of what I can expect. Im not expecting super high speeds, but if I can get something that can do around 60MB/s or better then im sold lol

I get something like 1-5MB/s when im moving 10-20 things at once, making media management next to impossible

no problem, do you want the source hard drive on the raid card (where he data is going to be pulled from) as well, or are the Intel controllers good enough?

Connect both to the card, not sure if my mentality is correct but by using the raid card and moving files within it (between 2 HDD's) then hopefully I can avoid the onboard intel solution which is being choked by my needs.

Unless im completely off base here lol, never used a raid card or etc.

If thats the case then Ill just move all HDD's to the raid card and leave ssd's to the onboard
