I don't know this mic well enough to be sure about what I'm going to say, but try larger distances. The reason I asked how far away it is from you is that you mentioned it picks up your breathing if you breathe too heavy, so then I started thinking that maybe it was just too close. So try other distances, like say maybe 2 feet or 3 feet, etc. You can even try the farthest distance available to you just to kind of get somewhat of a benchmark.
Also, being that it is a condenser mic, it is always going to be picking up the sound of the room like that. I mean, you mentioned that you have it pointed away from the PC but it's still picking up some noise, and that's because condenser mics are almost as sensitive as human ears. At least, they kind of work in a similar way: sound sources don't need to be close at all in order to be easily picked-up.
So, try to think of it as a human ear just sitting there. :)
