Memtest testing at stock speeds, not OC speeds

Thread Starter
I want to use Memtest for testing my Samsung 30nm at 1866MHz. I boot into Windows fine with it but I want to be sure the OC's tight. Unfortunately, when I boot into Memtest, I see that the DRAM freq is at 800MHz, the stock speed. What's going on? Am I using Memtest properly? Is there something I overlooked?

Thanks!

Memtest86+ is just misreading it. It will still test for stability but just show the incorrect speed/timings. You should try the 5 beta, it might fix it but if not nothing to worry about. The BIOS and CPU-Z are correct.

On AM3 platform if you have memory passing memtest but fails prime95 (specifically blend and not usually small FFT) then you can increase CPU-NB voltage- essentially the voltage going to the processors memory controller. Sometimes you might need a little bump in CPU voltage as well. I would imagine it's similar on Bulldozer. Note this is not always the case, sometimes memtest will pass when memory is unstable, but this will usually do the trick.
