The same two cores are always 12c higher on load

Hi guys,

I have an old qx6700 that I've been running at stock. Now I know that the QX6700 it is a very early quad core processor that is simply two dual core cpus (6700's I think) on the same die. the problem I'm having is that when running prime95 on each of my four cores my temps on the first two cores, cpu0 and cpu1 (~77-79c), are always WAY higher than cpu2 and cpu3 (63-64c). I read that these processors should be kept at 65c or below. Is it possible that one of my dual core cpu's simply runs really hot?

I've done numerous reseats of my heatsink and the same two cores, cpu0 and cpu1, are always about 12c higher on load. Speedfan and HWmonitor show the same thing. The only thing I could think of is something with my heatsink surface since I have been mounting it in the same orientation every time.

anyone with experience with this problem and what was the solution? I'm pretty open to all ideas. My heatsink is a CoolerMaster tx3 btw- pretty much the 212's 92mm little brother.

Id recomend you post this in the Itel section as this is the AMD section

It's either the thermal paste is applied incorrectly or, the heatsink isn't doing the best job at keeping a quad cool.
