How so? I think this would be awesome for gaming and productivity to. It all depends on price. If its cheaper then a 30" 2560 x 1600 then it should be interesting.

I love choices, this monitor is good for its intended purpose (mOvies) but isnt good at anything else. I really hope these 21:9 monitors do not become the only thing on the market in the way 16:9 has. In a perfect world you would have a choice of 4:3, 16:10, 16:9, 21:9. Instead of just 16:9 like you see now.

What's wrong with that? You do know that about 90% of all flat screen TV's run on a 60Hz native input.

Uneven frame output or blurry image in motion due to most movies being ~24fps.
60/24=2.5; 120/24=5.
Besides, good TVs can run at ~24Hz or 25Hz depending on content.

I also know that 56% of statistics are made up on the spot. rolleyes.gif

I know of no TV that can run at 24 or 25Hz natively. The input are usually ran at 60Hz and the panel is 60Hz. If its a 120Hz or 240Hz panel then it is possible that the TV aceptas a 1080p 24p input that is then decoded to fit to the 120Hz panel but the panel never runs at 24 or 25Hz.

I know that being able to run native 24FPS will make movies look better. That was the original intent of the 120Hz TV as both 24FPS and 30FPS can be shown on it natively with out 2:3 pulldown or some other from of Telecine. Unfortunately most TV's in use today are still not 120Hz but 60Hz and as far as I know all plasmas run at 60FPS progressive scan. Why are they made to run at 60? Because old cathode ray tube TV's ran at 60Hz interlaced (NTSC) in the US or 50Hz interlaced (PAL) in Europe.

Looks amazing but aren't bluray movies mostly in 16:9 aspect ratio?

I know some of mine are 21:9 but not many...

I honestly think this would give me vertical claustrophobia. I'll pass.
