The only that's making me feel somewhat nervous about GK110 though is that lately NV has been way too strict with their voltage control etc. But I guess if the 780s are as locked as 680s you can always grab the soldering iron and do some modding yourself.

Guess they're spies in the red factory leaked stuff they did not like - otherwise it is insanely wasteful for them to utilize a die more than twice the size of the GK104 for a gaming card.
That thing will cost them same or more money than a 690 to produce and QC will be a nightmare (based on the yield troubles they had with the smaller GK)...wondering on price

Very unlikely. Close? Maybe, we'll see how the increased bandwidth, more cuda cores and rops are actually balanced compared to GK104. Of course the single chip will always the advantage of not being an SLI setup.

Guess they're spies in the red factory leaked stuff they did not like - otherwise it is insanely wasteful for them to utilize a die more than twice the size of the GK104 for a gaming card.
That thing will cost them same or more money than a 690 to produce and QC will be a nightmare (based on the yield troubles they had with the smaller GK)...wondering on price

NV already has to manufacture GK110 for GPGPU purposes, GeForce cards are just dies that didn't make the cut, just like it has been with previous generations.
