I'm using them with this res XSPC Acrylic Dual 5.25” Reservoir for Two Laing DDCs, not sure how to effectively decouple them from the case.

Really isn't too many ways you can do so either. Not unless you use foam sheet and stick it to the 5.25 guides. mellowsmiley.gif

I don't think I can put any dampening material between the res and the bay, it's a very tight fit.

Now I'm thinking of selling the bay res and one pump then get the Bitspower DDC mini tank. tongue.gif

Yeah, there isn't much mass to that XSPC res to dampen anything.

My main rig has 2x MCP35x pumps on a dual bay res, but it is the Koolance one that is machined out of a solid block of acetal, so does a decent job of dampening noise from the pumps.

Here are the pumps i got from yours truly, bmaverick. These are DDC-1T's, and are powering both my HTPC and sig rig, project Diving into deeper Waters

338
338

Main rig has a Watercool DDC Pump Top LT - Acrylic and HTPC has a Watercool DDC Pump Top LT - Acetal replacement top

450

This is how it looks on my HTPC. Pump is mounted sideways over the HDD tray because i couldn't find a way to mount it on the floor. I have changed a couple things though (changed all tubing to transparent 1/2'', moved a bit the res) but overall appearance and loop order is the same.

And this is how it looks on my main rig. I have changed also a couple more things (changed the rad fans to GT-2150's, push-only on top and push/pull on bottom, changed PSU) but it is virtually the same.

Now that isone S-W-E-E-T way to keep a pump cool and to really save space in your case. Love it! thumb.gif

Is the pump mounted using rubber isolators or maybe the orangish item with isolation too?

Looks like that Orange thing is a piece of particle board. More Laminated than particle but If you look closely you can see the grain of the wood on the top surface. I'm not sure that it's keeping the pump cool more than it's given the pump a platform and a space to call its own. Now if that piece of wood has an opening cut out of it that allowed the fan to blow into the bottom of it I don't know but that's what it looks like to me. smile.gif

Just got my test bench setup with some sensors. I hope to put a bunch of pumps (including several of these DDC-1T ones) I have through testing on a "typical" loop. Just need to finish it and then pick up a triple pump top.

It is indeed a piece of wood from an old cigar box, which i gave shape with a dremel, and cut a circle on the bottom, which is slightly bigger than the pump's center circle, so it can get some air. it does not feel even warm to the touch.

At the time i couldn't find anywhere to place the pump (i had mis-measured, and i thought it could fit right in the back of the case, but no) so, after digging a bit on the "misc room", i semi-ghetto'd that mount. It is mounted to the pump with some old fan screws in the two mounting holes it has at the bottom, then the wood is fixed to the rad by the 4 screws which hold the fans to the rad. It does not have rubber insulators, but the wood+plastic combo mount makes a good job of absorbing vibrations (right now the pump is over my new GT-2150, and my old Panaflos were noisy enough to hide the sound biggrin.gif).

I kinda wish someone made a case for the bottom half to be made of acrylic, for it to match the top. Plus it would look wicked cool to show the guts of it.
