PSU enough power for new build? - Page 2

That's the problem, I don't. Think I'll just have to purchase one and see what happens.

Do you think it could be the CPU connecter which could be causing the issue? The PSU has 2x 4 pin connections labeled CPU 1 and CPU 2. On my old motherboard I could connect both of these but on this gigabyte board I can only use one.

Just a quick update. I purchased a new PSU a 700w unit. As a test I only made sure the CPU, RAM and PSU were connected. All the fans turn on and stay on, however there are no lights turning on, on the MB. Does this means its doa?

Have you tried the other 4 pin on the 4+4 connector? It says CPU 1 and CPU2. Have you tried CPU2?

Yep I did try this and it was the same result. The new PSU has a 4 pin and an 8 pin. I plugged in the 4 pin and the fans stay on not like in the video where they switch off immediately. So I think I've eliminated the possibility of it being the PSU now.

Should I be seeing LED's on this board?

Just as an oddity, have you tried booting it with a cd drive attached? My comp decided to throw a fit when I took mine out and refused to boot properly. Had to put it back in before changing the BIOS settings.

That was it! It now boots up. How strange that it needed a driver attached to boot?! Anyways it now turns on.

Nice one Bob!

I have another issue now however will post this in the relevant forum.

Thanks for your help.
