p8z77 v-pro Can't get into BIOS, straight to windows 7? Any advice welcomed

Thread Starter
I updated my asus p87zz v-pro to the latest bios 1504. It fixed some issues I was having playing guild wars 2 and actually corrected the crashing issue I was having. I got my pc oc'd to a little under 4.7 with ease and want to try a little higher. The issue is, I can't get into my bios. I tried mashing del the bios button, holding keys to get error when booting , unplugging monitor, etc...The pc is running great but this not being able to enter the bios can't be good. I have searched and searched but can't find a solution .! Desperate for advice, thanks in advance.

Try clearing CMOS. There will be instructions in how to do so on the manual.

Hmm, that will clear my bios and all settings to default tho right? Wish there was another fix to this ...

Little old and you've probably fixed it already but with FAST POST I get this problem too at times (here and there). When it fails I just turn the computer off at which time it uses normal POST (as that's what I've set that to) which always allows BIOS entry as it's slower.

Pressing "Del" will not help -> hit "F8" and on the end of boot device choice is "Enter setup"

Are you running a mechanical USB keyboard? Try a PS/2 keyboard.

LOL, I didn't realize how old the thread was.

Old or not I am still having this problem. Yes I have a mechanical keyboard too..

Running 1606 Bios all setting as at default too. Cleared CMOS and didnt help as yet.
