Upgrading The H100 Fans

Thread Starter
I want to put these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835706028 192 CFM Delta Fans on the Radiator but wanted to make sure before I order them if they will connect to the H100 Pump/Fan Controller without any problems. Not so much that they wont connect but if they will be too powerful for the controller to handle.

Thanks

36W at 12V, thats a lot of juice - the average fan controller does 30W, i have a feeling that the controller on that pump wont be able to handle 2 of them.

why those fans? i mean they push a lot of air but they are going to be SO LOUD lol

Well after listening to one of these on Youtube at full speed (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8xuW6a3KEc), it will end up being too loud and the fact that I might not be able to run them on the controller bothers me.

How about these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835185054 6 decibels quieter but still moves a decent amount of air at 133 CFM (have one of these already for my rear case fan and it's not that bad at all). Would the H100 controller be able to handle two of those?

Thanks for the reply. +rep

AFC1212D's have very loud bearings. They emit a rather loud mechanical noise. I know this because I have about 90 of them. I hate them.

The other ones you linked before the 38mm thick AFC1212DE's are easy on the ears at low RPM, and still have GREAT static pressure for use on a radiator.

I run 3 off of a rheobus without any issues.

I once tried to put 2 in tandem off 1 potentiometer, that one doesn't work anymore, but 1 fan per controller shouldn't be an issue.

I have a H100 and it doesn't run very many different fans. Go to corsairs forum and check there. I know it wont run my sickleflow CM fans. They spin up and slow down. Back and forth then they stop. I thought i had saw somewhere a chart somebody made on different fans that would work with it.

I only linked the AFC1212DE and the Scythe DFS123812-3000 "ULTRA KAZE" are the ones you referring to the Scythe?

Did a search on their forums and didn't get many results. I signed up and made my own thread though. Appreciate the advice.

Did you check in the h100/h80 club and search in there. I know i saw it somewhere. Might of been in there. The H100 fans start up at a weird voltage and they set the controller up for those stock fans. You could try those fans. I tried a 212+ stock pwm fan in mine earlier today and it wont run it right either. What was the voltage on those fans? The ones you listed. Go into the corsair hydro club here and on the first page there is a section saying fans for H100. Hit the little google spreadsheet under that and it will tell you some good fans that others have used.

they will connect to the H100 controller/pump, but that is about it.. the internal controller will not
control the fan speed, they will run 100% all of the time. installing massive fans on that thin of
a radiator has a diminishing return in cooling.
most peeps go quieter in H100 fans due to the stock fans are LOUD. pounding massive cfm really
wont drop the temps much more over what is there now. maybe 3°-5°?
