Corsair H100 leaked onto my brand new graphics card and motherboard - Page 2

Thanks for the words of encouragement everyone. I have started the RMA process and will keep you posted on how it goes.

I live on the other side of the world from Corsair so they will hopefully respond over night.

It's good to know that Corsair's customer service is held in such high regard. Gives me some hope that I will be up and running again soon.

After taking what I hope was enough photographic evidence, I removed the cooler. I would have thought that if it leaked anywhere it would have been where the pipes connected to the block, but it seems to have leaked along the seam on the block:

I feel for ya man. I caught my defected H80 before any of this could have happened but yes, stick to air man. I'd recommend the Phanteks and good luck with the RMA process thumb.gif
post #13 of 592
Yuk, that's terrible, sorry to see that happened to you. I know it doesn't help but I'm glad I chose not to use the H100, and design a simple custom water-loop for my system. FYI, as part of the RMA Corsair may want you to ship your computer parts to them for inspection. I hope you get the necessary parts replaced and your PC is back up and running again soon.

Thanks. Yes, my plan was to move towards a custom cooling loop once my funds recovered smile.gif

I hope I don't have to ship the parts half way around the world but I can understand why they might want me to do that.

corsair always replace every parts when there is a leak. not matter what, if it THEIR fault. you won't pay a penny

I don't know if this helps, and I don't know where you are, but Corsair has RMA centres in Fremont CA USA, Netherlands, and Taiwan. It would be good if you're closer to one of those and they wanted to see the damaged parts, that shipping to one of those hubs would be possible.

Contact Corsair. They are pretty awesome at this kind of stuff. A user who had his H50 leak on his board, soundcard, and GPU got 400 bucks out of them and a SSD along with a new H80. All as a "We are sorry, lets try to fix that" deal. Not sure if they will still do that still, but hey. see what happens. Corsair customer service = awesome!

Also, shoot a message to this guy:

http://www.overclock.net/u/158841/corsairgeorge

He is the Corsair rep here on OCN. May be able to help out further.

Good luck!

Man that sucks, I had the swiftech H20 years ago leak on me and damage a GPU and mobo. This is why the first thing i did before putting the H100 in my system was leak test for 6hrs as i never trust any contained units anymore. I'm guessing you didn't do this though....which is a easy mistake to make in trusting a product as "plug and play" as i did with the swiftech, i'm not taking chances anymore.

Corsair will sort you out mate don't worry.

Corsair customer service is really nice so you  are in good hands. Like dealing with EVGA, but better :D
