Looking for a new GPU in the $150-200 range - Page 2

Don't get the GTX480 because it runs hot. I'd get something newer like a HD7850.

This, you can find a 7850 for right at $200, I bought one for my brother, he loves it.

Honestly, I've been thinking about it and I might even go back to the 6850/70. I'm playing at 1440x900 and I've got a feeling my E6600 will end up bottle-necking a 7850/GTX 480.

Might even go down to a 7750. Am I dead wrong?

Your CPU is going to be a bottleneck. so try and sell your board, cpu, ram and try to get an upgrade to atleast a core i3 or phenom II X4 cpu,mb and 4GB RAM.

This is based on the assumption that the E6600 is at stock clocks. If its clocked high, it would bottleneck a 7850 at around 5-10%. Which is barely anything IMO. Get the 7850 and OC it. You are almost guaranteed to hit 580 perf with OCing from what I've seen and heard.
Good luck! Btw, HIS is a great brand.
