Well I got a mock loop running and so far no leaks

. I'll let that run until tomorrow morning and then I'll drain it. This way I know my rad and res are good. Tomorrow night when I get off of work I'll upload some pics of me fitting it into my case and filling it for an overnight leak test in the case. If all goes well Monday I'll be able to power it on hooked up.

One thing I can't get over is how quiet this D5 pump is. So glad I decided to spend the extra $100 over the X20 pump/res.

Well here are a few more pics of me installing it and the mock loop I set up. I'll re upload these once my computer is up and functioning. Tapatalk almost always screws it up.

After I let the mock loop run for about 12hrs I felt safe enough to start installing it in the case.

Its now filled and leak testing with just the fans and pump running.

Can't wait for tomorrow to see what kinda of improvement this is over my Hyper 212+.

On another note I'm starting to think that I might wanna go a little higher end on the graphics card and was wondering what people thought about a standard 680 evga and the hydro copper water block? Or am I better off going a slightly better 680 and say an ek block? I only ask because the price would even out and was wondering if those hydro copper water blocks were worth the extra money. One last question while I'm on the GPU subject, is it worth it in general to buy a highly OC'd card to start with or just buy a standard one and hope it OC that high?

Thanks for looking guys and hopefully now I can start doing some more fun things to this build like learning how to sleeve cables

and modding the case to fit me a little better.

Nice build...

IMO.. i would buy a reference board VGA.. And then you can overclock it later.. The factory overclocked one, isn't that high anyway..
Except.. If you want to do an extreme overclock.. That where you buy a “overclockable” VGA such as Lightning from MSI…

Well I did some stress testing and stuff and I thought I had a stable OC of 4.5 at 1.225v but after 11 hours of prime95 one of the 8 threads had an error due to rounding issues. The temps were great compared to my hyper 212+. I topped out at 74 C at 4.5GHz now, before I would hit 84 C at 4.4GHz :-). Anyone know what causes that or how to fix it? I'm assuming I need a little more vcore but not to sure since 1.225v is kinda low I'm thinking. Any ideas guys?

Thank you sir. I have finally decided on going with a lower end GPU since I don't even play any games that are new enough for 1080p much less multiple monitors. So I have edited the first post to reflect what I plan on getting and the change in water Cooling parts.

I raised the core to 1.230v and I'm rerunning my 12hr prime95 stress test to see if it passes this time. Also I wanted to add that the ram I am using seems to a pretty good OC'er. Its 1333mhz stock 9-9-9-21 at 1.5v and I'm currently running them at 2000mhz 11-13-12-31 at 1.6v. Will see in the morning how this all plays out.

Also added a little upgrade I'm gonna go with after I get my GPU and the last of my WC gear, guessing around the end of October/November. I have a friend at work that will take this new up4 and 3770k off my hands whenever I'll let him and since the bulk of my purchases such as case/cooling/ssd are already done I think I'm going to take him up on it. I always wanted to go with x79 and a six core CPU but just wasn't sure I needed too. Now I'm still not completely sure I need to but either way now I convinced myself its going to happen

EDIT: No dice. Still errors out with "hardware error rounding was .5 , expected less than .4". Does anybody know what to do to fix that? Thanks guys.

Well I tried re running prime after bumping up the voltage again to 1.24v but woke up to my login screen so I am assuming that I BSOD at some point. Anybody have any ideas? Is it because I got a bargain priced mobo that I can't seem to get a stable high OC? Also isn't 4.5 considered to not be all that high? I am just curious as I'm starting to get a little frustrated that I can't get over 12hrs of prime but can pass prime and any other benchmark for 10+hrs.

Picked these up for my TRON Legacy theme build. Got the optional light bar upgrade kit(s). Note, for a quad channel package you will need two light bar kits as each covers two sticks. No issues...

I honestly love this cooler, but I think I'm gonna move on to another one soon, it just looks... A bit to bland compared to other flaming red (literally) coolers on the market.
