Well I did get the rest of my packages in today biggrin.gif

My new motherboard, a water block for it and some miscellaneous fittings and LEDs.

I just bit the bullet and used the pin out diagram posted in that thread. After going through it pin by pin I found the discrepancies I thought I had were because some of the wires produce the same thing so they are interchangeable. All is well now and I'm happily boincing on my computer again since I'm not gaming.

Now I just can't wait to get my GPU block and 3930k to put all the rest of this together.

How did you attach the castors to the case? I am hoping to do something similar when I build one

Thanks a lot. Yeah I just couldn't make up my mind on some of the parts lol. I actually found castors that had a 5/16" threaded post coming off of the castor and drilled some holes in my case and just used a standard nut and washer from my local hardware store and bolted them right through the bottom of my case. I'm pretty sure somewhere in this thread I posted a pic of what it looks like inside my case where I installed these castors. If I forgot to post them, when I take some more of this system apart this weekend I can post more pictures.


Also this build log is gonna get abandoned as I will be basically redoing everything and changing a lot of parts in it over the next few weeks. I will be starting a new build log since most of the build including name, color scheme, number of gpu's, waterblocks/watercooling hardware, motherboard, ram, and cpu will be different.

Thanks a lot guys I appreciate it. Well these will be the last pics of this semi finished build before it gets tore down and re built.

I absolutely love this HK block. Before I put it under water I was running 1150/1050 core/memory at 1.150v and would hit 72 C core and 95 C on the VRMs boincing with my MSI 7950. Now at 1250/1250 core/memory at 1.175v it tops out at 38 C core and 50 C VRMs. Its an awesome block if your looking for a reference 7970 block.

The Reeven six eyes fan controller is also great. I love having the ability to monitor six temps sensors as well as fans. I put a bitspower temp sensor in my two biggest rads so I could monitor the coolant temp as it leaves the rads. The Alphacool nexxxos rads that have a bunch of extra in/out ports made it easy to do.

After adding the third UT60 rad my temp delta compared to the ambient is great. While boincing the water temp stays below 28 C and since its 21 C in my apartment I'm very pleased.

The front looks boss with that red fan controller.

And the colour of the res and controller look like they match the case almost perfectly. Nice choices! Probably going to steal them for my own build smile.gif

Thanks man. I was really happy how the painting turned out on the bay res faceplate. I'm thinking I may do something similar with the XSPC dual D5 bay res I'm getting next week.

Yeah my only gripe with the Reeven fan controller is its only 1 amp per channel so I can't hook up as many fans per channel as I would like but the aesthetics and temp sensors make up for it biggrin.gif

Now if only my metric copper pipe would hurry up and get here I can start bending the pipe into the runs I need and send it off to the chroming shop and start rebuilding this beast with my new parts.
