Nope, it's jsut decided that they're not standards-essential and handed it to a judge. And I HIGHLY doubt they won't find apple guilty. Plus, they have many others.

I don't see this happening unless Google has something major up there sleeves that can really mess up Apple. In which case, I believe they would sue Apple(as they have done) rather than look to work things out. Don't know what to make of it, but I think these talks will fall apart, mainly because of Apple's nature to be controlling.

You are aware of the wifi patent that Google gained when aquiring Motorola. Apple uses it in their Mac's, iPod's, iPad's, and iPhone's. Apple may have more money but if Google really wants to pursue this they would cripple Apple. No sales in the US would mean a very rapid decline in Apple. For one that is so quick to defend Apple and tell others to see that Apple is just defending their patents, you are blind to see at what they have done wrong. You really need to step back and look at the larger picture. Apple is as corrupt as everyone else they go after.
Samsung may have infringed on patents of Apple's but they are patents that never should have been given. This peticular patent in question that Google now owns is a critical system function, rather than a design or aesthetics concept.
That means that Apple has ZERO chance of winning the lawsuit from Google. Yes Apple is very scared currently as Google virtualy holds the companies future in their hands.
