Prices are found here.

I'll be ordering my ram either today or tomorrow. I'm ordering from the site mentioned above due to it's cheap prices. (Yes, it's in Canadian dollars and yes I'm Canadian)

The thing is that they're out of the DDR2-800 4-4-4-10 ram that I wanted, but I noticed another kit running at DDR2-667 3-3-3-8. The DDR2-667 kit is in stock, shall I order it?

I noticed on the Tankguys website that these sets of ram use the same D9GMH chips, so are they basically the same?

Will the DDR2-667 kit work with the DS3? Thanks.

We have the same kits, yes.

The 667 and the 800Mhz stuff all use the same chips, the Micron D9GMH. They are each rougly capable of the same performance as well.

Technically speaking, the DS9 boots memory @ 1.8 or 1.9v. The Team memory (all of the DDR2) usually wants at least 2.1v. Now, lots of DS3 owners run this memory without a problem, but just realize that there's a *chance* you'll have issues, since technically speaking, it's not supposed to work.

Hmmm, on your site it says 1.8-1.9

Is that wrong?

Yea, I keep meaning to fix that - I'll do it now while I'm thinking about it

So anyone else suggest me getting the DDR2-667 kit or wait for the DDR2-800?

They are the same chips and everything, just people won't laugh at me for getting DDR2-667 ram for $310.00 CAD.

I've even seen the DDR2-533 kit hit DDR2-1000 @ 4-4-4-12 2.3V

Could I get the DDR2-667 kit to DDR2-1000 with atleast 5-5-5-15 under 2.3V?

Nah, for the longest time, the 667 was a better seller. Now, they are roughly 50/50. The 667 stuff can often hit 1000mhz, and with those loose timings, it shouldn't be a problem.

HOWEVER, keep in mind no overclock is ever a sure thing, so nobody can gaurantee you'll get that. I'll tell you it's possible (and happens a fair amount) but don't bet the farm

Thank you very much Tankguys. You're amazing, giving me advice to shop in Canada, even if you could sell to me, giving me advice on ram, etc..

+++ Great person.

The DDR2-800 4-4-4-10 kit just came in. I'll be going with that.

Well, gaining business is good, but not at the pointless expense of someone else. Back when we were the only seller of Team in North America, it made sense for Canadian customers to buy from us - but now that you guys can buy in country, it's sometimes better to do so. Seeing as how our shipments to you would be taxed, that sometimes makes local shopping the best option
