The bunny hopping has gotten so popular that it has taken over the genre. Where as duck & dodge is the way in real life, bunny hopping is gamers answer. Sure no body wants to get get killed but it sure looks funny (not ha ha) from the other side. I have seen whole teams looking like they are on pogo sticks. To me it should be disallowed hit the space bar three times in a row and bingo only once every few seconds or even a minute in the pogo penalty box.

It took this thread to remind me where we are in video games.....
People can't even handle a guy sluggishly jumping side to side now. Let's go back to Quake, UT days. Bunny hopping was what you did just before rocket jumping and melting someones face all in the time frame of 0.0002secs.

Depends on the game. In counterstrike you had to hit the ground at angles for it to work, so just a macro hitting spacebar at right times wouldn't cut it.
I don't see anything wrong with it.

I hate "bunny hoppers".
Yeah, it takes a very tiny amount of "skill" to master (or a macro), but by and large, it is just another stupid game exploit in my book.
I wish game companies would put code in there to prevent it. If only taking 1% damage every time you hit the space bar to jump (or build in a fatigue system) ... SOMETHING ... to still allow people to jump when needed, but to end the "bunny hoppers".

Recovery delay after jump would instantly fix. If someone were to patch it out of a game that seems like the simplest thing to do.
