I prefer the "look" of the Corsair fans over the Vipers. But I would have to hear them both in person. For me...silence was most important aspect in fan selection. I didn't even really care about pressure, simply because I have so much rad space that fan performance is less important to me. I'll get decent cooling anyway...so silent fans were most important. But you may have different priorities.
Which do you like the look of more? When run at the same rpm...which do you like the sound of more?

100% agree with Chris here. There is nothing governing whether or not what the manufacturers list as specs for their fans are truthful or not, so take them with a grain of salt. 3rd party reviews are ALWAYS more reliable (preferably from a reputable reviewer, but anyone with the know how would suffice over manufacturer specs).

And I'd even argue that you can't compare specs from one 3rd party reviewer...with that of another 3rd party reviewer. Comparisons only work if the same equipment and methodology is being used for both fans. Some of the noise ratings from fan manufacturers are a joke.

DeRidder was only about 10,000 people, ...so there were no private schools or church school options. And I wasn't real impressed with the DeRidder public school system.
Hope I haven't offended anyone from DeRidder!

Better school system in Alex. Multiple options, and private/church scool options.

QFT, as the slightest of variances in pretty much anything can skew results. Plus, when reviewers do their "conclusion", they generally mention what the sound was like. I don't know about you, but sound is VERY subjective between people. So when you see someone give a conclusion based not only on the data, but what "they" think in terms of sound, count on it being different to your ears than theirs.

Yeah, I find that the manuf. specs are almost always wrong. I see that corsair specs are just about spot on though. Two different reviewers, (linus using a longwin, and cooling tech) have the static pressure ratings pretty dead on.

Im not really sure where he is getting that high of a reading in DBs for the corsair, because they arent that loud even sitting next to me.

Yeah...Alexandria was about 5 times the size of DeRidder, if I remember right. Back in February of this year, I took my 10yo daughter on a trip to LaFayette for a Karate tournament. Stopped in DeRidder to show her where she was born. Ended up in NewOrleans so they could see what the Quarter was like. We rolled through Alex on the way home.

I think that would come down to noise being "subjective" again IMO. Every fan has kind of its own tone to it, so for you, even though it may be a higher decibel fan, it may be almost silent because of that particular tone. Just one of those things. tongue.gif

nice. lafayette is about 1 hour away from me. New Orleans is about 4 hours. I was born and raised in Alex, so the smaller town life has grown on me. They film that idiotic show here Cajun Pawn Stars. I work at the firestation across from it.

I know what you mean. Some fans DB rating sounds absurd sometimes. I get them home and cant understand where they get that rating. The Corsair fans are rated at 35db, but I cant see it unless they are restricted in the front.

Think the corsair fans might be the winner. Splash of yellow and I have read two reviews from reliable sources that had them on top. Tator just released his findings also and said them and the notuas were top.
