£63.40 is still cheap for a PSU Mine costed like $150, which is the minimum I'd probably spend on a good PSU.

Again, the hiper 530W is not bad.... it just is not powerful enough for your rig as I calculated in my example. At stock, it'll be fine, but once you start overclocking, then you'll probably overload that thing.
But my old P4 System had a generic 500W PSU in it, and it seemed to hold out fine, even after overclocking. I had a 5700LE OCed like hell, 2 DVD/CD Combos, a front panel with 4 usb, a cpu fan that ran at 9500RPM (that took like 4Amps) 3 HDDs, 2 Floppys, aout 4 PCI devices... Get my drift?

That old rig probably did not even draw half the power as the new one does.

The X1800 or the X1950 alone will draw an easy 120W (or 10A). Since it all comes from the 12V rail, the Amperes on the 12V rail are what matter, probably more so than the actual Wattage. The Silverstone I linked has a lower Wattage rating, but delivers significantly more current over the 12V rails (35A v. 28A). As I stated before, the E6300 overclocked will easily draw another 10A, for a total of 20A for the video card and CPU alone. Note that I did not even anticipate overclocking on the video card

Again, 8A for everything else is not a whole lot. The Hiper probably will run your rig at stock, but might run out of breath when you overclock it.

Again, the PSU is the most overlooked item, and is also the most important item of a good, stable rig.

So you mean that your own negligence of buying insuffient components causing a blow-out will be covered under home insurance? As far I know insurance companies, negligence of the user is not covered.

But £60 on a PSU?! There isn't anything around the £50 mark that has more Amps on te 12v rails, because I am having to borrow off friends now (£45 because of the mobo and CPU).

Yeah, so I'm going to go to sleep now, and when I get up tomorrow, I'm going to be ordering the mobo, the mobo, RAM, GPU, case, HDD, and the all important !!PSU!!
If nothing much comes back I'm gonna get that Hiper Type R.

This is slightly better than the 530W Hiper, but still only 30A on the 12V rails.

580W HiperPower HPU-4M580 Black SLi Ready 20+24Pins P8 Ready ATX2.2/BTX £52.82 Inc VAT

And you can easily save £25 by getting a retail E6300 and another £13 by getting the X1800XT instead of the E6400 and X1950XT.

The E6300 is more than a good enough choice. you won't really see an advantage with the E6400 when you overclock.

But I want the R type because it's modular, and that's what I want.
