I'm torn, build or buy? *Decided to build*

So, I have decided I'm going Ivy Bridge. I've decided on a 3570k. I'm going to pull the SSD from my laptop and use that as my boot drive. I found a DVD burner in one of my bins and I pulled a PSU from my media server. Due to budget constraints imposed by the one who feeds me (my fiance), I had to cut back on a few things.
So far:
  • CPU: 3570k $189.99
  • CPU Cooler: ZEROTherm ZT-10D $13.61
  • Fans: 4 CM Blade Master $47.96
  • Mobo: Gigabyte G1.Sniper M3 $49.99 ar
  • RAM: 16gb Corsair XMS3 1600mhz $39.98 ar
  • SSD: 128gb Crucial M4 (already own) $0
  • HDD: 3gb Seagate $139.99
  • DVD: LG DVD-RW (already own) $0
  • PSU: OCZ StealthXstream 500w (already own) $0
  • Case: Thermaltake V3 Black Edition $27.99
  • GPU: Gigabyte Windforce GTX 670 $359.99
  • OS: Windows 7 Home $90.30
  • Monitor: Dell S2330MX $152.99
$1112.79

You would think so, but even using a 2500k I ended up over $900.

With Windows, my build cost something like $900, so that build should be around $1000 built with a cheap case.

I am building from scratch. I don't even have a keyboard. I've been running laptop only for a couple of years.

I'd build so I could put more money into the GPU as the 7870 is good, but if you could stretch it to a 7950 you would be MUCH happier as it is stronger in the first place and overclocks HUGE.

this build is pretty close to same price but way way way better. I put it with the best 570 you can find so expensive $20 more you could buy 7950.
You can trim some here and there like the HDD you really need 2 TB? I only put in a 500 watt psu not sure if its enough.

Also you can look at other sellers and see if they have better deals or not.

You dont really have to cheap out on a case either spend like $80 guy selling a new bitfenix shinobi case pretty sweet for like $60 or so.

Or go with cheaper motherboard with no wifi on it and buy the wifi card separate.

Are you interested in overclocking at all?

You can save some money and get a 480 instead of the a 570. Its performance is about the same.
