Getting my 600T wet :D

Thread Starter
Sup!

So, I've finally decided to bite the bullet and get my 600T wet!

This is what I've bought (from Specialtech.co.uk)

CPU: EK Supreme LTX
RAD: Alphacool NexXxoS ST30
RES: EK Multioption Reservoir
TUBE: XSPC High Flex White
FITTINGS: Compression Fittings Black Nickel
PUMP: Alphacool VPP655
PUMP TOP: EK CSQ D5 X
FLUID: Di-Water

Hopefully all shall arrive next week, so i will start building it all then. but in the mean time I've done i "Mock-Up" in paint of how I'm hoping to do it.
I'm also not too sure on where the tube's going into the res from the cpu. and the tube on the pic that goes through the res is going to go behind the res (hopefully)

(Just got that pic from google for a ref)

i welcome any suggestions/changes to the loop order if it will improve the astetics or cooling performance so have at it!

Just doing this as kind of a build log sort of thing, as I've got a few other things I'm going to do to it, but its mainly about the WC smile.gif

a 240 CPU loop is fine for a moderate overclock processor.
no mentioning of fans that you are intending on using?
the SP120 (perf or quiet) would be a fine choice due to the
accents and can use your OE controller.
loop order isnt as critical, you just want it to look clean..
only order is res to pump to keep from running dry.
RES>PUMP>CPU>RAD>RES

The 240 loop is all my budget would stretch to for now, I plan to upgrade it as soon as possible by getting a phobya extreme 200mm for the front and Mabye a block for my 670.

I have 2 sp120's already, though I forgot to mention them, they are the high performance edition.

I was only really contemplating a mild Overclock anyway, as my CPU is fine as is tbh, I may take it to 3.6/3.8 though I'm mainly doing this loop for aesthetics + better temps than my h80 I'm currently using.

oh it'll be way better than the H80, both in function and aesthetics.
i dropped 6° to a H100 and another 15° under load on a rx240 CPU loop
all in my fractal midi case.
now that was an intel i5-2550k @ 4.8 1.39vcore. your mileage may vary.

have you seen this (especially at 10:50)?

just an option for those AMD hotties..

Yeah, I have seen that vid, but i didnt fancy cutting any more of my case for now.

those temps sound great, at the min my 1100t is at stock speeds and sits at around 24c idle and around 35-42c under gaming load, and thats with the h80, so if i can drop the temp by 5-10c it'll be brill biggrin.gif

As I'm using distilled water, am i going to need an additive? and what's the difference between PHN and PT?

I read a little more and it seems the PHN is better for loops using just distilled water. so i went ahead and ordered some of that.. hopefully it wont hold up my build.. smile.gif

Yeah, I read about that but all I could find was about the pt, apparently the phn is fine with ek. Unless I've missed something.. I'm sure it will be fine, but of not what can actually happen to the block? Also I read that the pt nuke affected the nickel stuff, and my block is the copper one. And the pump top is acetal.

i dont follow that brand so i gave up on them almost 3 years ago..
i like heatkiller, XSPC and koolance CPU blocks for now.
what happens is the copper will collect deposits and eventually "clog"
thus choking flow and not allowing heat transfer. lil by lil.. as for the ni
the plating lifts and errodes and allows the copper to get attacked.
