SWTOR didn't go down the toilet, actually...EA is already profiting on the RUMOR the game is going FTP...It's a proven concept that in 2012 FTP > PTP...
Some of you people, genuinely, need some ethical/moral realigning.

Now this forum acts like they're saints lmao seriously if you saw a powerful item for a low cost you would jump on the opportunity as well. I don't understand why anyone has to make it seem like they're Jesus when they get online.

I did and I didn't...Hell, I even watched people do it and reported it.

There's a difference between being a saint and being morally/ethically grounded which, most of you, clearly are not.

It was an exploit, Kripp and others live-feeds PROVED it was an exploit but, they passed it onto the community that pushed it further...

I'm not Jesus, I just have a brain.

It was......... a mistake from a dev...
They should fire that dev instead of banning people.

No matter what you say the item was available in a legitimate store and people will use it no matter what because believe it or not its a legitimate store.
What if you walked into a BMW dealer and you see a new BMW M5 with a price tag of $5000 you go to the sales man you say i want this car he says sure that will be $5000 then you drive home with your awesome new car and the next morning there is a SWAT team storming into your home arresting you for stealing the car.

They should have just rolled back the characters that made use of A.Nets mistake not ban them even if it was only 72h ban.

You forget 1 thing.

You don't own the character that you made the purchase on...Your 60$ contribution LEASES that character and allows you to play barring the fact that you follow THEIR RULES...These people failed to do so and many ADVERTISED the fact they didn't + essentially ruined the current economy.

No justification you could possibly EVER make will change the above.

If you're not willing to play by their rules, you suffer the consequences, as is life.

????????????

How can people honestly support perma bans for this, Its beyond my ability to comprehend.

1) find vendor selling item cheap
2) buy item
3) sell item for profit (regardless of small or large profit)
4) repeat

this is the basis for making money not just here in the real world..but in lots of games as well (look at elder scrolls for example where buying stuff from the vendor for 4gold in one town and selling it to the vendor in the next town for 20g is a legit way of making profit....)

If they didn't want the price so low..they shouldn't have made it so low..its not the gamers fault for the price being low...

correct response: Oops we messed up, sorry everyone..from now on price is where we want it too be...

people who are perma ban happy would be exceptionally unhappy if it was them that got banned

It's still a blatant exploit.

If the price is obviously in error, it should be reported as a bug, not taken advantage of.

Ignorantia juris non excusat

Extremely incompetent? Instead of trying to make yourself sounds smarter by using Latin. "Ignorance is not a justifiable excuse." I think you should try to stay on the topic of what I said and learn to not make assumptions. You're assuming that players would know that the gear in question should be worth more. You want to act all smart, then I'll play the hasty generalization card and ante you the illogical summation. Ultimately, it doesn't matter if it was known or unknown of what the value of the item was worth. The developers made a mistake that the players acted on intentionally/unintentionally. They are punishing players for their mistakes. That's the point, plain and simple.

They did.

It actually wasn't until the exploit hit Reddit that the population FLOODED to the area and purchased the weapons.

It's a level 30-40 area and the only people high enough when the exploit occurred were the hardcore players that were Livestreaming.

When it went live and the sale of those items SOARED, I think we can make the logical judgement that they weren't ignorant of what they were doing.

Again, you don't own the character you play, Arena-Net does, play by their rules or don't play at all.
