I have enough money for one of these cards, but I'm not sure which one I wanna get.

GTX 470 will smoke both of those cards together, it is still a monster and will easily compare to HD7850 in performance when overclocked.
But :- it has higher power consumption, more heat & more noise.
HD6850 performers more or less like a GTX 460 so the GTX 470 has 18-25% edge over it, add to that weak tessellation & directx 11 from Radeon HD6000 series.
GTX 550 Ti I don't know how you put this card against the other two. It is completely out of the league of GTX 470 and HD6850.
GTX 470 is almost double than GTX 550 Ti.

6870 is about equiv to a GTX460, and a GTX470 will be the best option.
Once you get 700-800mhz on a 470, they are very formidable.

I've got 110 dollars.
all three are used..
GTX 470 - 110
GTX 550 - 96
HD 6850 - 95
I really dont want anything in my computer breakingthe 68'C barrier. And I heard the 470 can reach up to 90c
470 vendors are Palit or Pony
550 is EVGA
6850 is Sapphire.

Er, no.
Plus it eats somewhere around 2.5X the power of a HD7850.
If you have money for a 550Ti, you surely can score a 7850 with rebates... That is one sweet deal, and it's just dropped in price

Also about this power consumption crap I already talked about it.
You really didn't concept the thread and fully understand the story do you?
He said he will buy a USED card. give me a working used HD7850 at only 90 or 100 bucks.

I'd personally get the HD6850 over the GTX470 and here's why.
- The GTX470 runs really damn hot, with that it gets loud. I had one, returned it for a GTX460 because I couldn't stand the noise.
- I believe the 6850 uses up to 40% less power than the 470.
- Usually runs much cooler and by far more silent at the same time.
- Their performance is actually fairly equal. If you clock the 6850 up a bit, you'll be happy.
If you however don't care about the noise - get the 470.
