Well what's the rest of your system? A GTX470 is a rather nice card and the best out of them all. I'd go with the 6850 otherwise, it's no slouch so to speak.. rolleyes.gif

the label in the image gallery shows 384w on the +12v rails combined which is 32A. I won't be so sure of connecting a GTX 470 and running on a on a PSU with 32A on +12v rail.

http://forum-en.msi.com/faq/article/power-requirements-for-graphics-cards

In this forum page they have gaiven amps and watts requirement for a range of graphics cards. For GTX 470W its 38A on +12v rail and 550w which I think is very sufficient. 32A might be just not enough.

A new GTX 560 can be had for USD 140 after rebate.

definitely a used GTX 560 can be had for 90 - 100 bucks. You would be safer with regards to the PSU.

I3 - 2120 3.1Ghz
8GB 1600MHz Ram
500 watt psu.
also,
If the 470 is too much,
How about a MSi 460
Or a 6870?

As a long time Nvidia user I have to tell you this .... PhysX is overrated. most of the time when you turn it on it will kill your framerates. what is the point in activating a nice effect that will make your game unplayable ?
HD6850 is a pretty nice card it doesn't compete with GTX 470 performance-wise but it is close to GTX 460 so it will still be a decent card without the need of a PSU upgarde.
The GTX 550 Ti will offer you PhysX but it is too weak compared to the HD6850 & GTX 470.

I'd get either a HD6850 or HD6870 since they run very cool and overclock nicely.

Both cards will run past 70 C IIRC. If the extra heat is really that much of an issue for you then go with 6850. Otherwise, the 470 dominates it in performance.

470 won't run with my psu. 6870 is my final choice.
