JVC HARX700 Underperforming?

I hate to be one of the guys to talk dirt about these headphones but here are Two issues.
The Popping sound (Click to show)
Issue 1!
-happens when starting/stopping the track or changing the volume,or skipping through the track(it usually doesnt happen during the playback)
-Seems to have decreased a bit 20hours after unboxing...

What could it be?Bad insulation somewhere? I have an old motherboard (p45 socket with intergrated sound card) and a terribly rated PSU (which TwoCables said is faulty, and i should replace it asap). So might it be crappy PSU ruining my heaphones.
Unexpectedly Underwhelming Audio Quality (Click to show)
Issue 2!

Man is this thing hyped and praised...some say its a poor mans ath-a900..
Anyway most people agree they sound crappy(i wonder if that word is allowed here..i mean we arent 10 so it probably is)
out of the box,so after careful burn-in(which may or may not help at all according to some people) it did sound better, but a bit.
And the bass is underhwelming really,really...that was unexpected...
Before these headphones i had a pair of old Saitek GH20 HEADSETS...which had muddier, but at least more existent bass..
Also mids are weakish, and highs are...i dunno how to say it but they sound wierd(probably cause i came of off GH20)

So whats up with that? I was expecting a bit more....

As im writing this i remeber people like to mod these headphones so ill do the same..
In the meantime here are some nice tracks with which i tested out Issue 2!

Ermehgerd! Everyone needs one of these in FLAC...

Bassline on top of which higher frequency is played, especially that bell ching.Contains classical instruments.

Ah! Sunn o)))...who doesnt like Drone Metal? xD a lot of people, but the track is nice..i guess..

Later on,as it progresses it gets a nice bassline on top of which that piano plays over, making it a solid bench i guess....Consider its Youtube 360p quality..

Dunno what to say,its nice...

Tell me what you think about these tracks..
P.S try skipping these tracks to the middle of them, where they usually peak in instruments.

I don't disagree with you, which is why I haven't recommended RX700s in what feels like a year and a half. Maybe more. They were good cans to try out and introduce people to audio 2 years ago, but since then, there have been many other budget headphones introduced that outshine them. The people that bought the RX700s and have not further desire to continue their journey down audio road will over-hype these to death. I know because I constantly argue with half of them off OCN. The mids are recessed, the highs are recessed. The bass is pretty good, but if you mod them, you can get better audio slightly, but just keep in mind, they're 35 dollar headphones. That's why they're praised.

And if you're wanting me to rate your music I won't because I'm biased and love Nobuo Uematsu's music.

^^ Thank you for your reply!

I also love Uematsu,he is a genius..

The only thing i dont get is how a 6-7 year old GH20 headset has more bass then harx700...even though that bass is muddy and crappy...
Is it my motherboard's intergrated sound card? I suppose that could be a bottleneck for audio performance...

You have to remember that quality bass>quantity bass. While there's definitely a need for some impact to the bass, I wouldn't want a headset that produced "muddy" bass over more quality bass.

I'd say that simply comes down to the construction of the enclosure and how easy the driver moves to low power.
