Hi everyone,

First post on this forum so hello smile.gif

I'm building my first ever PC, its just for working on built to a small budget.

The specs are as follows:

CPU: Athlon X4 651k Black Edition (£55.03)
Motherboard: EXDISPLAY Gigabyte GA-A55M-DS2 A55 AMD FM1 7.1 Channel HD Audio mATX Motherboard (£33)
Case: Ezcool Micro ATX Case With 500W PSU (£21.65)
SSD: Corsair 60gb Nova 2 SSD- 2.5" Sata-II (£37.49)
Graphics Card: XFX HD 5450 Heatsink 1GB DDR3 VGA DVI HDMI PCI-E Low Profile Graphics Card (£18.89)
RAM: Kingston 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz HyperX XMP Memory Kit CL9 1.65V (£29.16)

Others:
StarTech 2.5" to 3.5" Hard Drive Mounting Kit - Inc Cables (£3.83)
2 x 80mm fans (£4)
DVD Drive (£0)
Tax (£40) frown.gif

TOTAL = £243.05

The small HDD should be ok, I have 2TB of NAS at home. I save everything there.

I think I have a half decent spec for the money there but would like your opinion.

I already have monitors and Windows 7 so saved a little there. All this arrives Monday smile.gif

Thanks,

Steve

Seems like a nice build, congrats! I also just finished my first. Were you planning to game on it? Because you mentioned "monitors". If your planning to game on a 5450 than you can just squeeze through but not if you have multiple monitors.

I don't plan on gaming. It's for mainly work (I'm a web designer)

I don't like to game with keyboard and mouse, I'm a console guy smile.gif

What will you be doing on the computer? Just general use?

Congratulations on building with that budget. Didn't think it could be done, I just spent more than that on a processor!

You should go with the Pentium G530 from intel. Dual core, but it's stronger than what you got.

Ok I've been looking at the case - this is it in stock.

The top 5.5" bay will be my DVD drive which cannot be altered but the mesh is boring me already.

The power button is blue and I dislike blue strongly (MUFC Fan)

I will be removing the mesh and painting it red.

The button will be taken apart and the LED will be replaced with a red one.

I will also play with the idea of adding red LED's behind the mesh.

And I did lie slightly in the OP - I have some of the parts, and its already half build.

Motherboard is in, as is Processor and power. Rest is in the post though (Ebuyer split the order in half to post it easier I guess)

I will make a start with the case tomorrow smile.gif Plenty of pictures inbound.
