Oh, I was misunderstanding you. I thought you were saying it wasn't good enough. I'm sure they will relese some lower end models soon.

7950 can't touch a 8800 even if it did have more pipes.

I'd get it because personally I need an upgrade from my 7900GT, and there's no point in buying anything else below that....for the cost difference I might as well go all out. Plus, if I sell the infamous "Sideburns 7900" I can make a good chunk of my money back anyways....

That's why.

1- I need more power
2- might as well go all out instead of half assing it twice

he dudes..
Withe the new games :
Crysis
Brother in arms : Hell's highway
and others they will need a better graphics card with DX 10 support..
it's a diference playing a game at DX 8 than playing on DX9
And it's a huge diference to play games with a full supporting DX10 card than an ''older'' DX 9 card!
I just can't wait till it drops in price!

If we all used that mentality we'd have the cars of today with nicer bodies but with the same inefficient motors of yesterday. The new architecture provides the processing power and efficiency that dx10 needs. Do some reading, and for god's sake get a spell checker.

I say its a leap, but leaps like these are noting new. Remember back when 7 series came out and how much faster they were than the 6 series. Remember how a 7800GTX was way overkill and it was faster than SLI 6800GTs? Its like that. It is a leap, but its not any diffrent than any other leap in the past.
