No power to hardrives and ssd

Hello I recently bought an xfx 850 watt power supply after my old one died and everything seems to be working except the hard drive and ssd have no power. I tried using the power connectors that came with the power supply but they don't seem to fit at all (that's what she said) and the old one's from my power supply fit but if I plug them into the power supply it won't start up. So either I'm missing something or I need wider power supply hard drive connectors. The hard drive lights don't turn on and they don't show up in the bios either so I know they aren't getting power. Does anyone have any ideas I really want to get my computer up and running again.

each company uses different pin layouts for their modular connector, only use the cable that came with the new psu or it will cause you a world of problems.

which xfx psu exact? and what do you mean the new cables don't fit?

Also I mean that the power supply connectors that go on the hard drives aren't working/ won't fit and the hard drive and ssd won't start up.

is it possible that you arent putting in the sata connectors properly, or could your hdds be old and use ide? if they are ide they are molex connectors, and sata has its own special power. if you look though the sata has a little L at the end, and you could be putting it in upside down.

I tried putting them upside down and right side up so either the cable that they sent me with the power supply are damaged or the power supplies modular slots are damaged.

do you have any other devices connected using modular cables? try one of the 6 or 8 pin pcie power cable to power your video.

also there are 8 sata power connector that come with the psu, you saying not a single one will fit into your hd/ssd? I really can't see that being the case.

i meant 8 connectors, there are 4 connectors on each cable.

so the cable you have not a single one of the connectors fit? what is causing it to not fit?

I guess they fit but still no power ***, maybe the modular slots on the power supply don't work.

It's not the power supply I used an old one and it's doing the same thing so it might be the motherbord now #$##$##.
