Cheap Laptop Help

Thread Starter
Hello. I am new to overclock.net and I am looking for a laptop that is $500-650 that would be able to play any newish game on med-low settings. Also, I'd like it to have 14(ideal) to 15.6in screen and decent processor (ie not intel celeron/A6). If I can get something that has a higher build quality for a little less performance, I'd do that. I'd like to do mostly coding and sc2. If you need any other information then please ask. Thank you for your time.

This is your best bet, it was FP on Slickdeals, so it's a good deal. In the range you're looking at, it's almost impossible to get a discrete GPU, so I'd jump on this if i were you.

Here's the GPU on notebookcheck:

Should play SC2 well at lowest settings at 720p

If you can go up to $800 http://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-IdeaPad-20994KU-15-6-Inch-Laptop/dp/B0084C2ZR2/?t=slicinc-20&tag=slicinc-20

i7 + 660m, that'll play BF3 at medium settings on 720p probably.

*when I say play, i mean at least 50+ fps

To be honest, if I were you I would consider getting a used one on craigslist or a similar website.

The bottom one is over $1k, twice OP's budget.

What about refurbished? They're used products that are returned to the factory to have some parts repaired/replaced. Got my dv7 refurbished for $560 when original price was $700.
