Silver Arrow Sb-e Extreme clearance

Hey!

I'll buy a new computer but I have a doubt
Silver Arrow Sb-e Extreme will fit in Coolermaster 690, z77 extreme 4 with 8 Gb tridentx memory?
I think in CM fit, cooler will cover the memory and the ram is too high but if remove the top fins fit if be correct
The ram work fine without the fins only with air cooling in 2400mhz and same clocks? or only for WC?
Give me some advices
I'm thinking in prodigy, z77 mitx asrock and H100 too but later no go sli..

Will fit if your Trident X is more than 52mm from centerline of PSU
Trident X will work fine without fins.

Will 140mm fan on top of Trident X fit in your case?
Also fan will not be centered on cooler fins... it will be 25mm above top fin of cooler. Trident X is 39mm + 141mm (fan) = 180mm.. Cooler is 162mm tall and fins stop about 7mm below top of pipes so 155mm to top of fins.

Will fan fit on back of cooler?

Cooler performance is almost same for front & middle fan mounting or middle & back fan mounting.

Hi Extremo,

This is Steve from Thermalright, I tried to find some CPU clearance of the original CM 690 with no luck. The Silver Arrow SB-E is 175mm in total height(including the TY-150 150mm fan in the middle). The best information I could get from Cooler Master was for the CM 690 II which is 214.5mm wide (compared to the CM 690's 213mm) with a CPU clearance of 177mm (fits the Silver Arrow SB-E). Please note that this does not insure that the original 690 will fit our cooler. What you could do is measure the internal width of the case, side panel to side panel. Generally we can take off around 20mm for the main board + CPU thickness and screw prop up. This will give you a better idea of your CPU clearance.

My TS140 fits in my CM690 just and no more. It practically touches the case door. Going by the specs on their website it should fit. Just.

Welcome Steve. There was a rumor a TR rep would be joining here. Thanks.
