6200 to 6500"? - Page 2

i could only find a 6600GT that matched my ram.
According to rivatuner, 64-bit NV44A (A1,4pp,3vp) with 128 DDR2. Does that mean its not flashable?

Correct it's not flashable since I've bolded the part that has been stated

BTW I have the same and ruined 2 new 6200's trying to do the same more than a year I think ago.. That's when most of this came up I believe and indeed the N44 core cannot be upgraded.

so i guess i am stuck with overclocking. one question about overclocking this card: does it actually increase fps in games? Stock is 351mhz for core and 660mhz for memory. I was able to get it to core 450mhz and 700mhz memory, but I am not sure if i can see any performance gain.

you need to tinker with it and up the voltage and get more aggressive cooling
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835118001

I think you could change the Voltage in the bios, you need to find NiBiTor and flash your card with some higher voltages and change the RAM timings a bit
(dunno ANYTHING about video card vram timings, but if it's anything like ram you can change it to lower settings and get a more stable OC)

i think i already got enough cooling. 32C idle and 43c full load.
the max i could go from bios is .15+. If a bad bios flash occurs, is it possible to switch to intergrated gfx and reflash the bios and fix?

Okay there are no unlockable pipelines on the NV44 A2 core.

you can change vram timings in the video card but don't worry about that

and i use a PCI gfx card on mine when things go bad

I have seen those settings too with my video cards, but does it work to do that or is that asking for a dead card?

I'm not sure but they should do something if you don't go crazy with them
