fanless, platinium or gold psu

Thread Starter
Will be building pc in fractal r3 running 24/7

looking for a whisper quiet psu biggrin.gif

i dont need much power 500W max i think, modular/non modular doesnt really mater

I will need to power:

low power intel T series cpu and a low power 6670/7750/7770 gpu, still dont know for sure, some hdd's

i could go fanless, but dont think its really worth it cuz it will need some airflow after all

i was looking at platinium one's (more efficent = less heat = less noise) but they are expensive mad.gif

maybe where is a nice gold psu which is really silent?

See if you can get a SuperFlower Golden Silent; platinum-rated, modular and 100% passive. They range up to 500W if I'm not mistaken.

You don't need a gold rated unit for silent running. Most Seasonic PSUs are quieter than any other fan you're likely to have in the PC.

But if you're keen I'd recommend the Seasonic X-400 or X-460. A PC running a T series CPU with a 7770 only does around 200W fully loaded.

Actually, if you want a smart solution and you are willing to take some risks, there is a really simple way to solve your problem.

Get the corsair 600 watt builder series PSU that is on sale at newegg right now and get a noctua NF-F12 fan from where ever you can find it the cheapest and just swap out the fans. You might even be able to use the low noise adapter rolleyes.gif
