In addition I get an error when posting about hard drive error (though I can ignore and continue to windows)
Go to the run prompt and type 'diskmgmt.msc'. You'll be able to see a drive layout and right click the unpartitioned space and then hit format.

You should be golden.

I don't have LBA on..

I'm formatting the remaining space as an extra partition...

What's LBA?
You could try slipstreaming sp2 into your sp1 disc using nLite. That way you can format the partitions as you please.

Large Block Allocation. Increase the block size to overcome sector limitations.

You need to do this. OR, create a small Cdrive and a large data/game drive after service packing.

I had the same problem with a WD, at segates site there should be some tool to download(WD's is called Data lifeguard tools) download and install then it should recognize all of it, then make a new partition or resize the current. Good Luck!

In this configuration WinXP will not create partitions greater than 137GB until after the Service Pack 1 or higher is installed and registry bit EnableBigLBA is set to 1
Have you checked the registry?

Not yet. The registry is huge and I wouldn't be sure where to look exactly

I heard it was very complex to slipstream... is that true?
