Overclocking Acer AMD A-8 3520m

Thread Starter
I've seen several videos posted of people overclocking their Amd A-8 3500m, and we have almost exactly the same specs, but every time I try to overclock my computer using K10 stats, it goes to Blue Screen. I'm new to overclocking, so please forgive any ignorance lol.

I wouldn't mess with overclocking a laptop, they tend to run hot as it is. They're clocked lower and run at lower voltages for a reason. They have very low end cooling solutions, typically a low profile aluminum heatsink and a small fan. If you really insist on risking it AMD Overdrive may work for your laptop. Just know that your responsible for any damage to the laptop. Just because it can be done it doesn't mean it should be done..

It has that Turbo Core technology where it overclocks itself during heavily consuming tasks. I just want to be able to set it to run at that speed at a constant. It's definitively not something it cant handle. I've seen several videos of the A-8 being overclocked, and they are all stable. and my Laptop runs pretty cool as it is, about 30 Celsius.

I'd look into AMD Overdrive then. It may allow you to overclock your laptop.

Okay, I'm going to slowly try to up the speed. I upped it from 1600 mhz to 1700mhz and it didnt freeze like with overclocking otherwise. Maybe I was just trying to overclock it too far.

I'm guessing that AMD Overdrive worked?

yes, just trying to figure out how to disable Turbo Core. With it Activated, the core speed is constantly changing, ranging anywhere from 800 mhz, to 2500 mhz.. Again, I'm New to Over Clocking so I'm taking things slow, especially since its a laptop.
