I don't think you gun enough if that's what you think.

Stingers, Iglas and Mobile AA heatseekers would randomly ignore gunner flares (only the gunners flares, pilot flares would work always) and just go straight into the heli as if nothing happened. Doesn't matter now that they're gone, though. It was a recognized glitch and got a response from verified DICE employees on reddit and was mentioned on the massive buglist on GetSatisfaction. I guess what they did would be considered a fix by some, most agree that the gunner should have some ability to add to the survivability of the chopper.

There's been plenty discussion of moving the extinguisher perk across to the gunner position. Personally, I think it's a great idea. The gunner can potentially contribute to the survivability of the heli, but only IF the perk is selected and only AFTER the damage has been done. This in combination with double maintenance would be quite potent I think. It does make sense if you think about it. You could also deploy it before landing to repair quicker, which is fantastic, because if you fly aggressively now, standing outside of the heli repairing it is more than 10% of the game, which is alot when you add the time up in 3-5 games spent not actually doing anything.

I find bf3 doesnt feel right in terms of movement on the mouse.

Feels heavy which is down to equipement. I hate that new fps games are doing this, i wish they would stop as it makes me not want to play fps games with this feature.

All that needed to be said thumb.gif

It's a game you faff-around in....like jihaad jeeps + C4, riding EOD bots off ramps, killing people with repair tool, trolling your own team with passenger heli's, trying to get roadkills with jets/helis, etc and should be treated as such.

If I faffed-around in CS people have a right to get mad at me, but in BF3 it's the only thing that keeps the game fun because it's not a competitive game that can be taken seriously - it doesn't take it's players seriously. Oh and the graphics are lovely.

Birgirpall is probably my favorite player, he knows exactly what to do in this game tongue.gif

I actually do this with my F2000 equipped with a holo sight and 9 times out of 10 I end up hitting and killing those snipers too. Especially on Metro when they're camping on the front escalator stairs or when they're trying to snipe from the tracks and you're at the top of the stairs. Otherwise, "Mr. Sniper" has to come out and take them out quick and fast. tongue.gif

Well im kind of old school, CS and tac ops and i feel they shouldnt be doing this because it takes away from the experience for me.

My opinion.

Realism has no place in BF3. If you want realism go play ArmA.

The mouse sensitivity has no reason being the way it is, it doesn't add to balance, it just forces players to move out of their sensitivity comfort zone. Everyone does, it, even if you don't know you did it, you added sensitivity over what you normally use to counter the sluggish movement. In the end, it just adds up to making your ingame character more of a cripple, and detracts ALOT in high pace fights. I don't own CQ, but for those that do like the tiny grindbox maps over the real game, I bet they hate it too.

Close quarters fights in BC2 were all about aim and positioning, you could even employ hit and run tactics where you shot at an enemy before they knew where you were, run around to side flank and finish them off. Now because EA decided to use this new engine, fights are completely down to luck, whether the server interpolation is decent, whether the desync is horrible or not, what weapon you're using and how much sensitivity it removes from your mouse. There is no positioning in close quarter engagements anymore, coming in and out of the sights takes longer, and essentially locks you in position, so you're both shooting at someone standing still, the only thing you can do to help is crouch, because if you go prone and the enemy hits you once, you die.

It's really stupid in my experienced opinion.

This. It takes you out of the game in another way. As if the desync wasn't horribly poor enough, they go ahead and employ a hardware limitation.

It's funny because on consoles, this problem doesn't exist, purely because of the way the joysticks on the controllers work. It's like they're bringing PC players down to a console level.

It really blows my mind how badly people contradict themselves by using the "but it's realistic" or "but it's not realistic" excuse in video games. The game already has hundreds unrealistic things going on but they are happy to ignore those. And when you ask them "what about all those unrealistic aspects?" they go silent.

For example, almost everything about Jets in BF3 is completely unrealistic (turning, speed/stalling, heat seekers having such a pathetically small range, etc). Carrying 4x AT mines + Javelin (plus 3 rounds) + Scar-H + ammo should break your spine in half before you could even move. If you die in Battlefield 3 you shouldn't be able to respawn for the rest of the game. When you get shot you should't be able to keep running at full pelt. If you get shot in the head you should't be able to be revived by a defibrillator (hello, there's a hole in your HEAD). The list would simply go on and on.

There is a firm line to be drawn between what aspects you want to keep realistic, and what aspects you want to AVOID keeping in order to keep the video game balanced, consistent and fun. Suppression oversteps that line.
I love most of the things about BF3 and will keep playing it, but I always try to avoid doing any infantry-style shooting because it's the game's greatest weakness. The vehicles are atleast functional and the graphics are great, so Armored Kill will keep me interested for a while longer.

You have realism and you have realism.

One is fun, the other is serious.

BF3 is the fun type.
