An AEK would destroy a good M16 player in short range and a good Scar-L player would destroy him in long. An OP weapon wins everywhere. M16a3 does not.
Besides as someone who knows both weapons have basically zero recoil in real life. No one fires them on full auto either though so maybe that's not relevant.

Once again, this is only your opinion. Based off my personal use and experiences on servers, both weapons are heavily over used for the simple reason they are overpowered and easy to use. People are lazy, they will use the easiest means possible, hence all the level 100 players still using these same guns.

Gotta love Dice! Lets see a patch that does something with 60 out of 64 players being snipers,or that actually promotes something besides hiding in a corner with a sniper rifle and not helping your team. Now that would be a patch, but instead lets mess with some weapons that are actually good and turn the rest of the players into cowering corner campers. This game gets worse all the time from its lack of proper net coding to its awful weapon balancing, seriously considering buying a cod game at least there games have proper coding and smooth movements

It was made like that so the beginners could have a well-rounded gun to take on guys rocking unlocked guns with higher dps--like the G3A3 or the SCAR-H or the double-shotting AN-94. AEK vs any M16 = AEK wins every time...but the M16s have a chance at least.

Someone mentioned all the belt-feds too: if you get into a shoot out with a guy rocking an PKP you'll run out of ammo/have to reload before he does (suppression affecting your aim) and he'll win a lot of the times.

I rock it (M16A3) in CQB maps because against F2000s and AEKs it's a challenge still. With the reload time cuts, even more people will be using the laser-like AEK-91 now.

Some of these changes don't make sense, though. The removal of the gunner flares especially. I don't know what maps y'all were playing where the chopper was invincible but, in the bigger servers you've got locks coming from every-which-way as soon as you go up: AA, Iglas, soflams, tanks, jets, choppers... Then half the time someone jumps in with you they don't have flares anyway or flare at the same time as you... Then it'd take damn near every rocket to kill 1 guy, pfff. I never even bothered flying any more unless my team was just abandoning the chopper to baby sit kd/r's--even then I knew I'd be lucky to get 2 good runs in before having a jet tail-pipe me.

Totally agree with the gunner part. Not sure which servers they were playing but as the gunner I always took the flare so they pilot could use other stuff. Having both was a good tactic but wasn't at all unbeatable.

aa was already op prepatch..now its ridiculous...just wait for people on noshar canal/gulf of oman snipe tanks, jets and choppers from carrier
and yes, aa already hits more than half the map...and it only takes 1.5second to kill jet, 2 to kill chopper

All of the issues you mentioned, aside from latency/hit-registration issues, are the fault of the community so DICE really shouldn't be blamed for that. It should be up to the player himself to play fairly and it's definitely not DICE's fault if someone's playing like, for the lack of a better term, a dick. As for the hit registration issues, well.. I haven't actually experienced the issue enough to really talk about it.

You also mentioned balance, but IMHO, balance in BF3 is actually pretty decent considering the amount of weaponry at your disposal. If the M16 is the one gun people feel is truly overpowered, then we're damn lucky. The M16 is a powerful and versatile gun, but other guns will do just about everything better than the M16. Maybe not all at once in one package, but there are plenty of guns that will absolutely decimate the M16 in certain situations. M16 is a jack of all trades, master of none.

You're going to have all the same issues with campers, snipers, lack of teamwork, hackers, balancing, and hit-registration/latency in Call of Duty. They might actually all get worse as you switch games, especially balance. And if you really hate the BF3 community, the CoD community will make you want to stick your face into a pot of burning hot cooking oil.

*edit* Post #1000.. About time. xD

Honestly, DICE/EA needs to fix the following issues IMO;

- The issue where if you put a MAV down near an ammo kit, you get another MAV causing you to waste the MAV you put down. You literally gotta run away from the ammo kit and put down the MAV then run back and be quick to use it or else the ammo kit will give you another one and the cycle will repeat.

- They need to fully update to account for all MAV roadkills. Sometimes it doesn't state a person was killed by a MAV at all. Yes, I know MAV roadkills are cheap kills, but they can be very useful in baserape situations.

- The issue where it's difficult to revive fallen teammates that have fallen on a health or ammo kit.

Gotta love it when people cry over Heli rape when 32 monkeys can't work as a team, set up a soflam and take them down. But no, let's cater for noobs and stupidity and nerf the hell out of armor.

What's next..?

Upcoming Patch: Removing the Attack Helicopter from the game.

I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that mind-blowing teamwork was needed sit in a Heli and abuse below-radar strafing + 5-second ECM (every 10 seconds) and be near-immune to any kind of guided missiles. Throw in gunner flares just in case all that didn't work.

But it's OK to demand crazy teamwork in order to bring you down. Double standards much?
