[TRINITY APU] AMD Socket FM2 - Motherboard Discussion & Gallery - Page 21

The Zotac ones are already out, check ebay.com, but for 150 bucks (they are also recycled fm1 boards to fit fm2) :S. About the bluetooth and Wifi, I also already have usb dongles, but I wouldnt mind having them intergrated. Theyll most likely send me a new board and ill make myself some VRM coolers so I wont run into that problem again.

Yeah I just checked out the Zotac's. They're being sold from the same sellers that were selling the FM2A75M-ITX. I must say I'm impressed: Dual Gigabit ethernet? 6 x USB 3.0? 5 year warranty (w00t!)???

I also like to use my own dongles for wireless connectivity, only when I need them, plus I have better reception than with the onboards

Unsure about the quality though. After all the ASRock was just as promising. If I could buy this from a local store, I would probably do it, and be insured in case of a malfunction.

The power system is identical to the one found in the ASRock. If the implementation is as poor, that's something I do not know.

Hello,
here is my experience with Asrock Fm2a75M-itx. After staying 5 minutes in bios screen the result was this.

waiting for the RMA board.

How do you check that? Do you mean they have the same CPU/memory power phases?
They also ditched the VGA and used DVI instead. Plus 8-ch audio + opticals. I'll have to look closer at this board.

I also mentioned a thing in my previous post about overclocking. What I meant but didn't clarify was memory overclocking (important to up the graphics on this thing). So isn't memory overclocking dependent on the motherboard (in contrast to, say, the APU)? Cause I believe I remember the Samsung eco RAM kit climb to over 2400MHz with the a10-5800k, but if this is true, it must have been with at least larger than mini-ITX motherboards, possibly with the A85 chipset. Or was it exclusively with Intel platforms?

So, that's three out of four users in this thread that burnt their boards. I think it's safe to assume that the board is MASSIVE CRAP.

Maybe we should send a mail to ASRock linking them to this thread.

@Wall:

I correct myself, Zotac's carries the same system but they have been clever enough to heatsink the MOSFETs.

I don't think there will be a problem.

I read some reviews of the Zotac's homologous FM1 mini-ITX board, the A75-ITX WiFi: It seems pretty good. Only in one review was it mentioned that the CPU part of the A-series chip they used was stifled for some reason; other reviews didn't mention such a thing. And no overclocking options in BIOS. One would assume that the latter would have been corrected after ~1 year though. Also the fact that Zotac has been around since ION (I think it was the first to make an ION-based platform) is encouraging. But what's with that huge backplate?

Why would you think that it's a bad thing that it shares the same design, as the former FM1 board?

I hope someone will be posting a review of it soon

In fact, I think it is a good thing. The first one was a nice little board, and if they use a proven design, it'll be reliable.

I was blaming ASRock guilty of that though. The A75M-ITX was a horrible mess, and they reused the layout with the FM2A75M-ITX. It has become a mess too.
