.

I'm thinking VRM going to the GPU is the one that's exploding, which could explain why your VRM temps are fine. (Not sure which of the VRMs actually go to the GPU, since this is just a guess).

*edit* actually, the gpu vrm burning out is very likely since it has apparently already killed someones onboard gpu(still assumption).

I'm also going to assume that the UEFI bios doesn't have a capped fps, or some other issue, that it causing the cpu to go into a max power draw state(I've heard of a few cases where simple programs can overheat components because of this). still just a assumption though.

Now that makes perfect sense to me and a logical answer thumb.gif

Yeah but my error wasnt your system is stable, it said couldnt start. Also, in OCCT a bunch of graphs were missing on the side when I was at 4.6

And if he was talking about my graphics card being burnt, I ment my dedicated not onboard. 6670 2gb gddr3.

I seem to have fallen victim to a **** motherboard also. The machine switched itself off and wouldn't switch itself back on. I left it for a while, still no joy. I reset CMOS, no joy. I took out the CMOS battery, still no joy. I took out the ram and reseated it, still no joy. I left it switched off, went back to it the day after, switched it on, and bang, smoke.

I'm talking to the retailer I bought the motherboard from and they're going to process an RMA with Asrock for me but have said they can't guarantee anything.

Has anyone had any success in processing a warranty claim for this? What happens with fried components. If the processor and RAM are fried, will Asrock cover that too, or are we effectively ****ed?

Excactly the same thing that my reseller told me. He also said that Asrock's policy is not to replace fried components, claiming that these problems are user related.
Personally i don't beleive it, but i want to know what the answer of Asrock will be.

I'd like to think that with it being a new motherboard known to have had some BIOS issues and for it to have happened with several users, that they'd replace it.

I'd heard that Asrock were generally quite good with RMAs, too.

I take it if the CPU is fried, then Asrock won't take any responsibility for that either?

Oh they better, Im still waiting on NCIX for them to tell me what Asrock said. 3 cases alone in this thread, we cant all be retarded..... Obviously their motherboard has a problem.

2 burnt VRMs, two dead boards with no burnt VRMs. That is out of 5 owners.

This board is retardedly bad.

The Gigabyte I ordered that shall arrive tomorrow uses a more clever design.

The 3 phases on the left power the CPU, and the two phases on top power the GPU. They DO know that the GPU isn't some Intel HD piece of crap, and that it actually drains quite a lot of power.
