Yeah, the K versions overclock memory like champions, but the non-Ks get only to 1866, and nothing further than that.

Also, Gigavyte has readied up the Beta BIOS with support for CPU undervolting on my board, and they have skyrocketed to the top 1 of my favorite hardware company. I have never ever dealt with such a prompt and helpful tech support EVER!

I'll post it in the BIOS subforums.

what sort of GPU clocks and voltages you are running ?

I'm abit new to APU overclocking and the whole K series bit, havent owned a real AMD in a while and overclocking business just got complex compared to the good ol FSB
post #305 of 774
Can anyone tell me what the difference between the CPU NB/GPU and the GFX Engine voltages in the Asrock's BIOS? Which one needs to be upped to oc the GPU?
update: I've been experimenting with cooling options with different fan configurations

120mm intake = damn hot especially on the rear IO, its hot enough to cook you from touching it. but everywhere else is cold
120mm intake + 40mm exhaust = improvement but still fairly hot
120mm exhaust = every where cool but the metal exhaust grill is a scorcher, i still need a method to measure the VRM sinks as there is no air pushing onto it this way

note, those fans mentioned are the only fans in the system and the 120mm fan is the CPU cooling fan for the xigmatek preaton HSF

1.16VCore for the processor, stock VGPU, and 930MHz. DDR3-1866 CL8-9-8-24-36 2T (1T is impossible to stabilize, although it'd kick performance up a nice notch).

Stock processor speed, turbo disabled (don't like my vcore jumping around the 1.35V mark)

In the ASRock, the CPUNB voltage controls the graphics core/IMC voltage, just like in the AM3/AM3+ boards.

how do i OC the memory on this thing? while underclocking CPU
post #309 of 774
Above the multiplier set settings? Overclock the BCLK/PCIe clock settings, and lower the processor multiplier.

hmm i dont get the maths behind that. where is the multipliers and how is it calculated?

i've tried tweaking with the unknown..... i've boosted bclk and i've tweaked around by selecting a higher speed ram but both would result in no post
