MSI must not have many of the ITX boards out yet. I can hardly find any reviews or people using it. I'm wondering if its suffering from any issues that the ASRock one does. At this rate it looks like ill be waiting until January/February for the Gigabyte board to start my new build, or until some of the A75 zotac's start showing up (given those also have no major issues).

yeh i kinda speculated that earilier, im currently using what ever my gkill sniper 1866 defaults as according to XMP

my 3d vantage scores finally made a decent jump (P6700) when i clocked the GPU at 1053mhz but that clock wouldnt stick upon reboot and i couldnt replicate it as its not on the bios options and the next step up is 1086mhz and i cant get that stable

i think there is something terribly wrong with the bios on the power managemenet. it tried to suicide again pulling max current and heating my CPU up to 80c when its normally 30c idle and 50-60c load

I'm using one, I'm just too lazy to post a proper review. If you go back 10 or so pages in this thread, I talk about it. Not going to repeat myself tongue.gif

ITX mobo selection

SO Im considering building a minimalist system based around the A10 5800k. The only way I will do it is if its based around an ITX mobo and seem to see only two options and both are the A75 chipset, only difference from the a85x that I see is crossfire and extra sata? I plan on overclocking as high as possible but really think the asrock and msi itx mobos without any vrm heatsinks wont be up to it, anyone have any luck pushing 4.9ghz or more on these? Is there a true enthusiast itx out there? I would have a small water loop in my build. Plan would be as small as possible and without a gpu, only a sound card. matx is bigger than I want and I already have an intel matx setup.

Thanks guys

That is exacally what I have in mind, external power supply sure helps keep the footprint down which is nice. How are temps with that cooler? I built a llano system for a friend last year and I didnt even feel comfortable with a mild oc on the stock cooler. It was a build using the lian li PC-Q18A. This next time im thinking about the Lian Li PC-Q09FNA and an A10-5800k

Here is that build with FM1

the case i used is a ISK100(discontinued). you can still get the ISK110 but you wont get the pretty side fan unless you get creative. a pico PSU swap is recommended else you will have to heavily undervolt your CPU and might have to drop a few clocks to keep it under 80w

temp wise on my 5800k is considered good and the fans really play a role in it. idles around 30-40c and loads around 50-60c because thats how i set my fan profile to be absolutely silent even at max load.

however due to the case's nature heat and the close proximity to the heatsink you will feel that 50-60c on the metal mesh panel

OC wise, i'm not comfortable to OC on this mobo as it has a shady VRM design and bios bug that loves to burn out so as a result my CPU is underclocked slightly and heavily undervolted however i've OCed my GPU and currently playing around with 950mhz to 1013mhz

You don't need a picoPSU for the ISK110 if you run a 65W CPU, it's only the 100W where you are going to need a swap. Source: that's what I'm doing.
